Ricky Henderson might be a player to look at. Now before people go nuts and say he aint a KPD......I know! I have been 50:50 on him but he is one I would now look at. Exceptional skills and he does play tall and could be a player that if you were building a team defence would be worth looking at. Still would need another key defender but am slowly coming around to.

soft spot for Carlton out of pity
Look at Presti.

Was smashed by FFs for years, wasn't until mid to late career he started to pull his shit together was well after MM came.

Team structure is what we need to protect any newbie FB.
It's a joke. Check the Aish thread for the 'scandal'.

A player like Henderson can only play tall if we slow the speed of ball movement of the opposition. If we want to mimic the Dogs we can't let balls get through midfield quickly to create 1 on 1 contests. We actually have a couple of players that would be (and are) effective 3rd man up intercept markers. A big placement of trust in defensive mechanisms to change personnel entirely to suit a philosophy.

Sorry, but why would we want to mimic the dogs?

Have to snigger at the group think on these boards.

Henderson is a good target, yet people hating on Mayne!?

Mayne is younger, more resilient, has the runs on the board and was actually acquired as a free agent.

Henderson is older, injury prone, never established himself as best 22, was overlooked as a free agent...yet people keep talking him up!!

Who decided Henderson is a good option, and why do so many on here keep parroting it??

You would think we would have taken him as a free agent if we had any interest. I couldn't see us now trading a pick for him.

I don't have the answer to that question as i was giving an insight into a possible approach. Have not considered why we would mimic anyone but clearly there are leaders and followers of game sense in the AFL (amongst the clubs). Sorry for the cumbersome sentence.

Surely now we have something big cooking, 3 days left with no trades done.
Based on that logic, just about every club is gearing up for something big.

I think what, 12 players have moved so far? Last year by the end there had been about 55 or so. Hopefully it picks up a bit so I can justify to myself why I've been listening to so much Trade Radio.

What is holding up the WHE deal is Gold Coast trade for witts and Brisbane trade for Frost...once those deals go through we pass on second rounder to GWS and maybe next years third rounder.....another pick or player may be required to get Corr as well i could be wrong lets wait and see.Something is brewing though we are as silly as many other clubs and people think.Lets see what happens
