Wonder if 48 will in any way be involved in the trade for O'Meara now.

Just imagine they trade 10, 48 and a player for O'Meara.

They'll have lost Mitchell, Lewis, another player for Tom Mitchell and O'Meara.

The start the draft with pick 66 in a strong draft.

Yet watch them get an A+ by the media for their trade period.
Not to mention Hill who has left too.

I know the circumstances are a little bit different but it really grinds my gears how West Coast bring in a Mitchell and everyone blows their load, Melbourne bring in a Lewis and now they're supposed to be making finals, but Collingwood bring in Wells and all of a sudden we're a retirement village and it's all wrong.

Melbourne have gone down the path of youth too, so how does getting in Lewis make any sense to what they've been building? That's what everyone's saying about our Wells move.

EDIT: Fwiw, good on them for getting him. Stuff Hawthorn. I'm not potting Melbourne, I just don't understand the inconsistency by the media.
It's inside information that aidem to the media as there Source of knowledge

Get the feeling we are getting left behind by the likes of Melbourne and St Kilda.

They are building for the future and have a clear vision, for me, I struggle to see the same purpose.

The Lewis trade to Melbourne allows him to extend his career with a future in coaching once he finishes as a player (same as Mitchell at WCE).

St Kilda is becoming to be seen as a destination club with a young list and bright medium/long term future.

That was once us only a few seasons ago.

Not even a whisper in the last few days as to what we're doing by way of trade or deals.

Um actual he does. Averages 1.3 goals a game. Playing as a small forward in a shit team, is a pretty decent effort.

And don't shoot the messenger.
Um not in 2016, 10 goals from 11 games is his recent relevant form.

Not shooting anyone just saying he isn't that great and he played a decent game against us what 2 years ago which has everyone foaming at the prospect of getting him ignoring the rest of his games.

Pendles>Jones, Treloar >Lewis, Adams>Viney, Sidebottom>Vince, Crisp>Brayshaw, De Goey>Petracca, Wills>Oliver.

Not sure what the fuss is about at Melbourne....
Pretracca is a better and more damaging player then Degoey.

Would argue Vince is on par with Sideass.

Brayshaw in time will overtake Crispy Creme too one would imagine.

We are behind them right now but we have finally bitten the bullet and cleaned out the NQR. Next year will be tough as we will lack depth types but we can build that up pretty quickly once we feel the main pieces are in place. Its about getting talent and some leadership to the club this draft to prop things up and then start reloading the list during next years trade period/draft.

I have been frustrated by the lack of direction but I can now see we are developing one (finally). At least next year we are not going to have guys who can't kick.

I really appreciate Cal Twomey's in depth knowledge of the draft crop each year. But surely he doesn't have to talk about the potential draftees every single day, especially with things starting to heat up with trades.

SEN headlines, Melbourne have pulled off one of their biggest trades in their history, Jordan Lewis for picks 1003, 2004, & 2300 (meaning not relevant)

The funniest headlines I reckon I've heard for a very very long time!

Can't ignore age and say Sidebottom = Vince when Sidebottom is 25 and Vince is 31, then argue Brayshaw = Crisp because he is younger. Statistically De Goey is superior to Petrecca

There was a Collingwood person who had a long back and forth on Twitter with Brett Anderson about the Pies midfield being better....lol.

Jones, Viney, Tyson, Vince, Brayshaw, Petracca, Oliver, Lewis. All fed by Gawn. Tasty. #TradeSENtral

@pdinakis05 Dees midfield better than Pies. Showed in last three meetings.

@BrettAndersonIF disagree. They also lost to Carlton and Essendon...does that mean those 2 teams have better midfields?

@pdinakis05 Pies have better midfield than Dees? OK then... I'm a big fan of what Pies, but Dees ahead on mid talent. Throw Salem in too.

@BrettAndersonIF it's the ruck that is the key. He makes the Dees mids look better than they are

@pdinakis05 Offer both midfield groups to rival list managers (take ruck out of it)...most will pick Dees.

@BrettAndersonIF agree to disagree. I am bias so it's hard to see the other side. While I'm at it, I'll take Moore over hogan...big surprise

@BrettAndersonIF what about Taylor Adams btw, I also think he is as good as all melbournes mids, not including not Viney

@BrettAndersonIF wow, I think he is behind Viney and jones , but that's it. He is critical to pies, underrated but misses lots of games

@pdinakis05 Vince 11 out of a possible 12 Brownlow votes in his four games as a Dee against Pies. He's a better player than TA.
