Pretty clear we have.

Panic recruiting at its worst. Lose regular key backs, replace with fringe part time defender from fellow bottom 8 side. Illogical and counter productive when this year is our supposed great leap forward under the reset that Buckley has overseen.

I'm getting the feeling that things are running off the rails with our football dept if this trade period is anything to go by. Talk about bizarre thinking and what's even more bizarre is the attempts by some here to rationalize these decisions. Lynden Dunn an upgrade on Nathan Brown? Really? What utter garbage.
The players we have lost were fringe players, Frost, Marsh and Brown were not regulars this year and would struggle to be next year. Dunn and Wells are both excellent users of the ball and will actually be able to hit a target. So l dont mind both coming in, and Mayne gives us another target up forward, plus the forward pressure he applies should be followed by all our forwards next year. I dont mind what we are doing currently, looks as though up to 9 players will be moved on from this year, so if we can get Hoskin - Elliott that should be it from us this trade period.

he will be better in the team for the way the game is now played! Brown is a good defender but doesnt fit the team moving forward.

yet not good enough to get a game for Melbourne this year who also finished outside the 8. I just cant see how Dunn makes us better and considering we starting turning over our list 3 or 4 years ago and where set for a tilt in the coming 3 years these decisions are a concern.

Can't imagine we'll accept pick 61 for Cloke. May as well have just taken 63. Point differential is only 23.

Still think Cloke and 65 for 43 would make more sense.

Or Cloke for 43, we supply the lube.

He was good enough. Melbourne played a very good FB in MacDonald ahead of him, and proritised playing youngsters like Frost. Melbourne supporters will tell you that he should have been getting a game.

he wasnt in the senior side because of the stage at which melbourne were at with getting games into there younger kpds, so until we are in the situation where we need to develop young kpds it is all we can do. A lot of dee supporters were not happy with him in vfl because he was clearly good enough!

Seems surprising that Roos would refuse to play a 29 yo with 2 years left on his contract if he thought he was in his best 22.

Ive never really rated him and imo he is not a great replacement for Brown and Frost who are stoppers.

I would much rather guys like Scharenberg, Ramsey and Langdon get a game ahead of him next year.

I call it now, we are going to have the worst percentage in 2017. Why retire Toovey to bring in Dunne. Makes no sense. How can we have salary cap problems playing in the bottom half of the ladder?

What else could go wrong from here:
- WHE could go to blues or Roos.
- Cloke stays
- Gubby gets suspension / fine for GWS drug affair and we have no footy boss
- injuries to key players like every year in football.

That's what Melbourne supporters have said. I haven't watched him closely enough to say otherwise.

Those blokes will get a game if they are good enough or fit enough.

Yep, so who would you shoot last? :D
Brown gets first bullet. Sick of his high floaters being intercepted, especially when attempting to switch the play. Some of the goals he has directly conceded in this way were horrific.
Frost gets second bullet. Great closing speed and leap doesn't compensate for giving his opponent too much space, fumbling under pressure, horrible decision-making and bad kicking.
Keep Dunn. Need someone to keep Keeffe out of the AFL side and I'll enjoy watching Dunn kick torpies from the defensive goal square to Treloar in the middle of the ground.
