I mentioned earlier Frost doing a number on Buddy once and asked what was Dunn's claim to fame and in reply got tumbleweeds.
That's because you're on everyones ignore list LOL - just kidding, trade week does more to some posters than magic mushies - everyone's seeing things that isn't there.

1. Toovey has nothing to do with bringing in Dunn.
2. We don't have salary cap issues.
Yes have to admit Tooves had a bad year.
I don't know about Dunn though. Was he a good player in a really bad team? Some are suggesting so.
The salary cap was mentioned on trade radio as a reason pies were going for a cheap option. Do they mean the cap is tight or that we need to squeeze a couple of cheap trades / pre season draft picks on depth players for the defence.

North could probably offer more money to WHE but it depends if he wants to play for a team on the up, instead of a team plummeting towards the bottom of the ladder.

Hopefully he and his girlfriend being Collingwood supporters is somehow beneficial.

Maybe not an upgrade overall, but if he's a similar level, but a better kick, then he might be a better fit for our team.
Even if it was much of a muchness it's still a move that will have a negative impact on team's cohesion.

This fact seems to be always lost on those who say the players we've lost haven't done much since.

Can't believe the Dunn hate. Will be excellent for us
No hate from me, just thought we were on a mini rebuild. Dunn was a very handy player a couple of years ago and has either fallen out of favour or form.
It just seems that we don't seem to be getting much more than a Brown or Frost. Maybe a little salarly relief?

I would rather another year of pain with some youngsters as it seems this draft is much better and deeper than next year.

I haven't seen where Blair fits since 2010.

But the club match committee has a hard on for him, top 25% paid players and 1 of 1st picked in Buckley era, I mean seriously.
I don't mind your posting Loki, while I don't always agree, I didn't think you'd fall into the trap of posting a lopsided point of view to distort the big picture.

Blair played the last 12 games of 2010, including all the finals and 24 games in 2011. I'd like the guy out too, but playing him week in, week out, came before Bucks took over.

I'd argue his form and role in 2010 and 2011 suited us as a side much better then it did from 2012 onward especially 2013 on.
We had more talent on every line allowing for his role player "type", now we seem to have a very bad mix that means we need to ask more of him imo.

Even when he has gone back to VFL in the last few seasons he has put up some very average games much like he does at AFL level.

edit: Btw the original 2010 date was a bit tongue in cheek lol was overstating my thoughts. ;):thumbsu:

I don't know what the surprise is here.

Overall plan: Compete for premiership in next 3 years while we have Pendlebury.
Gameplan: Keep ball in possession and in forward half, defense with quick counter-attack, get ball in midfield ASAP.
Drafting plan: Better kicks (especially in the back line).

Got rid of bad kicks: Brown, Frost, Cloke, Toovey, Marsh
Brought in decent kicks: Wells, Dunn
Brought in defensive forward: Mayne

Old so we got them at a discount but they will be around for next 3 years.

If the plan fails over next 3 years then we do a fire sale and rebuild around our current '93 and younger kids.
Bring in Wells - will only last for one year if that..

Dunn will be useful for you guys. I don't think he's capable of playing on quicker forwards anymore, but will hold his own against the bigger guys. He's a good kick and generally a smart user of the ball too, so expect him to take over a lot of the kick in duties. Another benefit that I haven't seen mentioned is that he can also swing forward when necessary - that's where he played most of his first 5-6 seasons with us.

The negative with dunn - and the reason he couldn't get a game last year - is that he gets lost when playing zone defences. Give him a man to stand next to and he'll do fine, but last year he just couldn't make it to the right spots in defence and got showed up a bit. Hoping he does well for you guys, though, I'll always have a soft spot for him.
