Frost to the Lions for a 2017 pick I guess.

Witts really should be a mid 20's pick but if its below 30 I am headless based on previous examples (Hampson 32)

Williams looks like nobody gets him which am surprised about. Would love to swap him to Richmond, Lennon to GWS and WHE to Pies.

WHE I am still hopeful of but to be fair I reckon he gets more opportunities at North so think he might go that way if Collingwood baulk. He wants to go to Pies as great mates with AT but lets wait and see. Pies might be waiting on a pick from Frost for him.

Greenwood. He looks like he stays.

Cloke. Based on Lewis we basically hand him over.

Oxley. I think he will get delisted post season.

Does it? Well as of Tuesday I am feeling ambivalent, I'll probably feel a bit more positive by Friday.
Mate I'm doing my best to see the events of the last month or so in a positive light but so far can only get excited by the addition of Wells.
And even that has question marks over it.

The rest has been simply woeful and makes me shudder thinking about our immediate future even more.

I do agree that it could depend on what Picks we get for the Players Leaving

I grant you it's not looking promising. But perhaps this is all part of some elaborate 'moneyball' type strategy that will see us into the GF next year, only to lose when White misses from five meters out...

I actually agree with you regarding the Brown v Dunn comparison but Brown chose to move clubs. Now whilst we could have matched the offer we all know this almost never happens, particularly when the the original club thinks he is being offered too much. So the question is how do we replace Brown when we have no decent picks or players to trade?
What would you have done?
I was a little bit shocked when I read we look like recruiting Dunn, but when I think about it, he's an upgrade of Frost and a better kick than Brown, so I guess if you accept that his recruitment is a stop gap measure until we develop some KPP's, then his recruitment makes some sense. What doesn't make any sense is that we didn't develop any KPP's after 2010, instead recruiting the likes of Lynch and White to see us through.

I will leave the bashing of Dunn till after I see him perform for us. Always optimistic that when we get one of these guys there form miraculously turns around and they become solid contributors for us. Bit like Leigh Brown.

Shhh don't mention PK or Jordan Russell or Lynch or ...........

Looks good statistically, and he will definitely add more offensively than Brown. But I know which one I would prefer to stand Tom Lynch or Tom Hawkins.

It seems as if we will definitely go back to a zoning defence next year, as all our players are well suited to peeling off and taking intercept marks. It is also a much more skilful backline. Even a guy like Keeffe would be well suited to a zoning defence.

The issue is that we tried zoning this year and it didn't work. We looked way better playing man on man.

It's going to be interesting.

For mine, the query on Dunn is around his contract offer length. If it's two years, why not just keep Brown? If it's 1, then the likes of Dunn and Silvagni are just stop gap measures (and NQR like Brown / Frost / Marsh anyway!) and designed to have cap space cleared for the 2017 trade period.
Is it too optimistic to hope that he's willing to play for not much because we will select him on merit?

Has anyone heard what the Saints offered Brown? If its anything north of $400K, I'm glad we didn't match
