Not backtracking... just not being as emotional as some about discussing opinions on an internet forum...

For the last time, i said on his form this season... stop misquoting me. Be accurate when quoting me please... if you want an arguement and to get all emotional on a topic, then do us a favour and call telstra and take it out on them.

Shit canned... i mean come on. Calm down.

You have "taken issue" with my post... when you could have just disagreed with me. I can accept that.

But coming out with shit canned, continuing to quote half my sentence looks like you're trying to pick a fight.

Something i'm not interested in.

Peace.
And I've already said, based on his form this season he's statistically close to identical to Heeney. I haven't misquoted you at any point. Saying 'based on this season' doesn't suddenly make your call on his trade value any less bizarre. Tell me exactly where I've misquoted you, because as it is all I see is that you've chronically undervalued JDG, even if you're only basing his worth on this season, which by the way was statistically superior to his debut season in almost every category.

As I've already said, I have no issue if you feel letting JDG go for Rocky is worth it, there's legitimate reasoning behind that, but there's no legitimate justification for talking down JDG the way you did.

Fully agree...De Goey is averaging 16 possessions a game playing in starvation corner (HFF). His stats are basically parallel to Heeney's and it was reported earlier this week that when he comes out of contract next year he will command a salary of $900k, whereas there is talk of trading De Goey. I don't understand this...Have a look at the comparison.
Heeney - Career Average (38 games in two years)
K: 8.9: M: 4.7; CM: 0.9; HB: 6.2: CP: 6.5; DE%: 71.6%; Tk: 3.6; R50: 0.6; I50: 2.9; Clear: 1.1; Centre Cl: 0.2; St: 0.9; Goals: 1.1; GA: 0.6
De Goey - Career Average (36 games in two years)
K: 8.6: M: 3.1; CM: 0.3; HB: 7.7: CP: 6.8; DE%: 68%; Tk: 4.1; R50: 0.7; I50: 2.9; Clear: 2.5; Centre Cl: 0.7; St: 1.8; Goals: 0.6; GA: 0.6
900k...

Out of interest, if De Goey was to increase his stats and output by say 20% next year, what do you think his following years contract should be worth?

Roverjg makes a good point earlier about salary cap and potentially trading out a player to make room. I understand we are under salary cap and without cloke and swan so we save some money there... but big money deals to wells (600k), Mayne (rumored 350-500+) and potentially rockliff (surely 700k+) and others to come still might put more pressure on the cap than we want.

IMO I wouldn't trade out greenwood but another player on 400-450k is Goldsack. Now I like goldie but that's a lot of money to pay for someone whose body is so so, who's likely to play mostly vfl next year and who's probably in the last 1-2 years of his AFL life. I'm really not sure who would want him at his age and condition... but perhaps a cloke like deal where we give him away for peanuts but clear out his salary is the way to go?

Reckon instead of chasing Rockliff we should go after a young gun.

There's a highly touted kid that plays for St Kilda that would be a good get, imo.

Could probably get him cheap, nearly even for free, man.
Rockliff has many more years in him, Pendles is 2 years older, we to grab the window that has Pendles playing at his best

Yeah Goldy is really just injury insurance these days and not a particularly good one at that. It's a shame we didn't shop him around a few years ago before we resigned him imo. He had value back then. 4th rounder now... but maybe we're better with offloading his salary and getting a rookie.

If we could get a trade for Greenwood valued around the equivalent of pick 30 I would do it. If Rockliff came in, I think he would be the one squeezed out.
I like him and like his game but weighing up our list and what we might get in a trade, potential to improve etc he is the one for mine.
I guess if someone offered 30 for Smith it would be decent value as well, but don't see that happening (yet). Gold Coast have plenty of salary cap room and Greenwood is pretty much what they're looking for with their multitude of 2nd round picks. Witts, Greenwood and Frost out in a 3-way (Suns, Bears) trade for Rockliff I would go for, for sure.
That is such a sucking trade for us Rockliff is past his best I reckon and to trade 3 players ( only 2 of which I rate) for him when Greenwood's output wouldn't be that different seems crazy talk

On Rockliff, in reality I don't see how we get the trade done. We would need to trade out someone unexpected, or get extreme unders for him.
This.

I don't see how it actually gets through? Although things can change fairly quickly on that front. But on face value a deal seems very difficult to attain.
