Think it would be easier to go after Hibberd, he will come a lot cheaper. I can't see Wilson moving, he just signed a deal to 2018 and he has a big family around him down there.

A few players on my radar

Defence: ricky Henderson, aaron mullett, kieran collins, joel hamling

Midfield: Ahern, dumont

Forward: Ed Langdon, pickett (gws), matera, Adam tomlinson.

Basically just raid gws and whoever isnt getting a game at north or doggies.
I think one of our biggest on field failings currently is in the ruck. Would you entertain pursuing a ruck? If so anyone in particular that catches your eye?

I think practically we couldn't get one given we have little currency, but it is an interesting thought.

Perhaps we just need to keep sucking up the un-competitive performances until Grundy develops. A ruck coach would be nice.

I would pursue a ruck if we traded one of grundy or witts.

To be honest, i would spend the rest of the year playing finding out which one is the better long term option.

If we can atleast learn that, then its a huge step forward. They cant play together. So i dont see the need to keep both as they each have trade currency

Our 2nd round pick will be around 20/early 20's. If thats not enough for Adam Saad (if we were even interested) then I'll give up. Should be more than ample. We have paid over the odds for Treloar and Aish. Lets not get stitched up again.
And here in lays our football clubs problem "you want to go where" Collingwood ok then add another 100big ones to your contract . Every club plays hard ball with CFC during trade week .
What do you think Hawthorn would have paid Treloar if he wanted to go there and i bet we would have offered more to Frawley . I bet Hawthorn would go down the track of here at Hawthorn we may pay you less BUT you get Premierships or at the very least a good shot at one, same can be said of Geelong to a degree.
Players for both clubs are willing to go unders for success. Not at Collingwood 800big ones for Cloke or he was gone 800 for Treloar or hes at Tigas . We dont have the same mentality at Collingwood. Here its add the $$$ your making money now fella . 2010 Premiership was won by a youngish group topped up by seasoned players Jolly, Brown, to name just a few. Once those young players contracts were up, wammo up go the $$$ and not just little $$$ . Why because its Collingwood . I would like to think we paid unders for Steele but i doubt it very much .

Just by moving to Hawthorn, that won't magically improve his accuracy. Remember, the closer he is to goals, the worse he is!!
And, at his rate of accuracy, he would need about 150 shots at goal to score 50 goals.:p
Hawthorn average about 600 scoring shots per year, so what you are guaranteeing is that Cloke will get 25% of all scores that Hawthorn get...
Umm, that guarantee is a bit optimistic me thinks... Rioli, Breust, Roughead, Gunston, Puopolo, let alone the midfielders like Mitchell and Lewis kicking goals...
:)
Can you imagine this
HF Cyril Cloke Bruest
F Gunston Roughy Puopolo just plain scarey :)

Haven't we learnt our lesson about picking up 2nd rate battlers from other clubs?

If they can't make the best 22 of another team why would we pay to have them struggle to make the 22 at our club? Just going to be another Jesse White list clogging situation all over again.

If we're going after someone from another club they have to be GOOD. Hurley is THE one to get if we're serious about making the top 4 in a few years... our KPD stocks are putrid

I still have an eye on Pickett too. His 2015 NEAFL form looked promising but a foot injury has caused him to miss 3 games so far this year.

Explosive pace unlike any on our list, and loves to kick a goal.

His original draft position (pick 4) might give the Giants delusions of grandeur at the trade table but we have his lack of senior experience (let alone performance) in our favour.

Plenty of potential to be unlocked, but we would have to look into why that hasn't happened at GWS before chasing him.

By Crikey we need a fast goal sneak.

I'd be stoked with Hurley. Plonk him down back and never move him forward.

Someone like Pickett would have to be on the cheap.

Don't necessarily agree with all of the second and third paras, but definitely agree with the first.
