Collingwood give: Marley Williams
Collingwood receive: WHE

Freo give: Pick 3
Freo receive: Marley Williams, McCarthy, Gws' genuine first round pick (14ish).

GWS give: WHE, McCarthy, Pick 14
GWS receive: Pick 3

Am I doing it right?
Can't see GWS doing that. If they get a pick between 14 and 32, could work though.

I can't see Freo liking that deal either. They could conceivably get McCarthy for cheap this year, and get Marshall at pick 3 too who looks like a ripper. That's their key forwards set for the next decade (what we should have done in 2014 with Moore and Wright).

I'm sure GWS will still want Pick 21 from Freo for McCarthy. I dunno if that's cheap or not.

I'm so sick of hearing about Wright. I love the kid and would adore him at the club, but Everytime we talk about him it's having a dig De Goey.
Why aren't we complaining about 2 top 10 injury plagued picks in 2013?
We could have had Cripps and Mcarthy.
Let's stop crying over spilt milk. Wright is gonna be good, and so will De goey.

So basically Fremantle (potentially) are gonna get 2 KPF's from GWS. Wow. That would be impressive.

I'm not sure the bromance between Bucks and Sanderson is what we need next season. Would prefer someone from a winning culture and who wasn't the subject of a player revolt.

I think the thing to remember with Waldron is the bloke that throws 9,000 darts at the dart board, sooner or later one will hit the bullseye.

The club has had 3 years to bring Nathan's buddy in, why not earlier? When another failed season and he is surely out the door.

Assuming you're responding to my post, I was absolutely not having a dig at JDG. I think he will be a ripper, and have been saying so all year. I still disagree with the decision to recruit him ahead of Wright though. Opportunities to draft genuinely high quality key forwards are few and far between, and we had the opportunity to grab two in the same draft, who not only were quality, but both were talked up at stages as legitimate number 1 selections (if Moore were in the open draft).

We could have had built our forward line for the next decade around those two, and as much as I love JDG, his type was not what should have been at the top of our list of needs.

Sanderson took Adelaide deep in to finals in his first year, is the head development coach at the AIS (player dev currently being one of our weaknesses) and is close enough to Buckley to talk straight to him rather than being another yes man. I'd have no issue with him coming to the club.

Sanderson was run out of Adelaide and having your best mate working for you is a bad idea. Big no from me.

This time last year we were talking Treloar, Aish, a few were even optimistic about landing Dangerfield.
This year we're talking WHE, Ricky Henderson, Jong, Ed Langdon.
:(
I see what you're saying, but without losing/trading one or more of Cloke, Witts, Broomhead, Williams... we don't have any currency to land a big fish. And we can't trade out two 1st round and two 2nd round picks every year.

Not sure about Lobb, but you'd think Freo will get McCarthy this year and Hogan either this year or the next. Throw in Brad Hill and they will rebound pretty quick.

If Brad Crouch is coming home to Victoria we should be on that like white on rice. Will be a top line midfielder in the league in the near future.

McCarthy would've wanted to go back to WA if we picked him. Just one of those guys who wants to be home.

Well said.

I genuinely think we recruited De Goey to fill the hole left by beams. Don't think anyone expected Crisp to be best 22. Greenwood was always gonna be "okay" at best. So De Goey was gonna replace beams in 4-5 years.
Oh well, the disappointment of Wright is only being highlighted because of Cloke's poor form.

Yeah its probably going to be,

Harvey - Senior Assistant
Burns - Midfield
Sanderson - Forwards
Tapping - Defence

A lot of mates there but Tapping would be well deserved.

Also, he was assistant at the Cats in their dominant era and credited by a lot of the Cats players for being a big part in it. Him and Ratten I think are the two best coaching candidates out there, if a club was looking for a coach (yes I looking at you Dimma).

He is definitely well credentialed, with the only flaw perhaps being the existing close relationship with Bucks. However, when you look at a lot of the coaching setups most of the coaches hand pick who they want - a lot are mates and are picked as they are trusted by the coach and get what they are trying to achieve so its best not to pretend that picking mates is not a common occurance and that much of an issue.

It may however, be awkward when Sanderson gets offered Bucks job at the end of next year.

I've said this a couple of times, but if Bucks goes at the end of next year it will be because has decided he can't take this group any further.
I'm pretty sure he would then be ok with handing the job over to his mate
