I keep Oxley has he is actually a Good User of the Ball and we don't have many of them
I can't see him getting a game ahead of Howe though and I think he has too many weakness for mine. Poor defensively soft and slow. His lack of speed is the killer for mine as opponents run away from him with ease and they can running him down easily which cause him to shit his pants and turn it over.

If he had one less weakness I'l like him.

Oxley should be kept for depth purposes. He's not the type of player to complain about the lack of first team footy or request a trade something. He's a quality player who would fully understand his role of being a rotational player and nothing major. Similar with Frost - we should let Brown pursue free agency, and keep Frost on a low-ish salary and in the VFL as depth.

Tom Mac would be an absolute dream - was talking him up here in March or so. Splendid defender with a bit of kicking work to do (would fit in nicely). Grimes would be better suited to other clubs as he's not really a natural key defender I reckon

liverpool - Walk On!
WHE showed potential to be an A grader, but injury has held him back.
Would give up Witts and a pick to get him.

Would really love to see us have a crack at 2MP.
First rounder next year a minimum requirement plus some.

Got the feeling we will have a huge amount of salary cap space in the next couple of years, with the potential retirements of swan and a few others and the talk of players leaving via trade like Cloke Williams etc, we will have a huge war chest. Unfortunately we won't have much trade currency so we may have to look towards free agency. Obviously Fyfe would be the dream free agent to get next year but are we a attractive enough destination. Right now probably not but who knows if we throw a big money offer at someone. Thoughts?

We should have a huge amount of salary cap space right now given we need to improve.

Now that the season is over I am comfortable with the fact that we have to trade players with currency that will land us young talent due to the fact we sold the farm on the Treloar deal. Treloar's trade still does not sit comfortably with me even though he has had a wonderful season. We still need to inject quality young players into the club if we are going to compete against the GWSs of the competition.
Players I think that will attract interest from other clubs that we can afford to let go because of depth in position.

Witts - Needs opportunity has real currency
Williams - remains a very poor kick but hopefully other clubs will be attracted to his form last year, has real currency.
Blair - Doesn't do enough, would not get a game if Elliot, Fasolo, Broomhead are all fit. Has currency with clubs lacking quality small forwards.
Oxley - Needs opportunity but with Langdon and Schaz back on board will sit it out in the VFL, has real currency.
Broomhead* - highly talented but is behind Elliot and Faz if they are fit, will attract interest from other clubs, only trade if it means landing the big fish.

I think Brown/Cloke are at the back end of their careers and deserve the right to be one club players and unless they are severely under performing they should not be trade bait for the club. Let's reserve some dignity, I have no problem with them seeking further opportunities if the club tells them that opportunities at AFL level will be scarce.

Some of the players mentioned are club favourites but we need a clean out because what we are currently serving up is unacceptable.

Brown and Dacs look the goods at draft time.

*I would prefer to keep Broomhead, I think he will be a wonderful player but if his trade lands us a young KPP or high quality mid then pull the trigger.

Brown Im 50/50 on Cloke I think we should keep him but will probably want to go. The rest plus Oxley and Langdon should go.
Why the hell should Langdon go?? Even if u don't rate him, he's a 21 year old who finished high up in our bnf last year, and has been injured this year. Why don't we get rid of Scharenberg??

All this talk of adding another forward - SIMPLY GET BREUST, who is a free agent.

Offer him 600k a year for 4 years and you get someone who will convert over 80% of his 40 or so chances at goal a year and lay near 100 tackles for the year... twice as much as cloke will do at this stage of his career and for the 400k he's on next year...

Edit: And he is in the right age bracket, potentially offering some leadership to a list that has 26 players who are 23 or younger.
Breust would add leadership and experience to our team.

Elliot, Fasolo, Breust that looks nice, with an improving Moore.
Looks good on paper

Tony Shaw is just about the only coach in the club's history who is worse than Nathan Buckley. Whilst it's an interesting post, I take it with a pinch of salt and have no idea why his irrelevant opinions are repeatedly put out into the world.
Murray Weideman tops them all for poor coaching.
Mick Erwin as well.
John Cahill was meh too

Let's kick off with a $600k-$700k 6 year deal for Luke Bruest worth every cent and add him to a fit Elliott, Fas, Moore forward line....mmmm

I don't think Hawthorn would want to loose both Hill and Bruest in the same year, It is a bit of a pipe dream I think eventhough it is a wonderful one.
