A lot of people in here have fallen into the trap of expecting the world for our teams scraps.

I know it's hard and until it is all done and dusted is hard to determine, but some more objectivity is required.

Personally I don't think any players likely to be put up will get anymore than a 2nd rounder Witts, Cloke, Marley etc.

That's a tremendous result given where they are in their respective football careers and would allow us to chase decent talent in the draft.

That's how Bigfooty Trading works......if they're leaving then they're worth 1st round draft picks if we are getting players in they are worth 5th round draft picks ! :drunk:

So I think we are 0 chance of getting him... but seeing as we aren't playing finals and don't have much else to talk about, what would it take to get him?
Salary wise I think we could cover a bit, if Swan and Cloke were to move on. Trade wise, we wouldn't have the currency. Treloar was worth 2x first rounders right? So you'd think Fyfe would be worth more. Can't see how we'd be able to cover that.
SP.. I agree with you that we appear to have very little to offer up by way of trade What do you think Swan would be on?. I have been informed by a friend of his old man that he will retire as he will be covered by insurance next year so wont lose much by way of income as foot not good at all. Would Cloke go to Freo?

I say it be more that Williams does not Work Hard Enough at the Club because of who he is Hanging out with
If this is really what has happened it's laughable given how close the two were off field (not sure about the last 5 months...). As CFC said pot calling kettle black from Adams if he's called someone out over what they get up to!

Honestly not sure what Swan would be on. You'd have to think at least 500k though right? I think at his peak in 10-12 he was on 800k or so, but thats some memory at the back of my head that might not be accurate.

Yeah I dont think Hurley coming. I suspect they are into Marchbank, H
Pardon any intrusion.

IMO you guys would be better chasing Hrovat than Jong. Jong has half the disposals of Swan but still butchers it more than Dane. Jong's hand skills are shocking.

Hrovat has great vision and use but poor defence and size and durability. He is like a Caleb Daniel lite IMO. Good fit for you guys if fit.

On Cloke many dogs fans disagree but putting him in the worst set shot team in the league makes no sense to me. I wouldn't take him for free but that's just me.
Agree with all of that. Jong has wonderdul effort and I can see why they like him but the polish of Hrovat is our big issue. I'm equally unsure as to why your blokes would want Cloke albeit Crameri, Cloke, Boyd and Stringer would be potentially devasting on a good day with the amount of quick ball that comes in. YOu'd think they would do what Buckley seems unwilling to do and that is push him up the ground. He's a pretty good field kick.

As an aside there is another Dog that am keen on which is Webb. Saw a lot of him as a junior and seems to have the intensity, decision making and skill boxes all ticked. Thoughts?

I'd be putting the foot down hard on getting Hurley. Jong looks a reasonable enough player but no stand out qualities that I see besides hardness but we have plenty of that already. A winger with speed (perhaps they see Phillips as providing this) or excellent kicking is a bigger need.

Small forwards with ground skills a need. We're getting Daicos but that won't pay dividends overnight.
Lot of talk on weekend about WHE being in the frame.

Can just see it now.

Bulldogs swap Boyd for Hurley and Essendon's pick 19 (pick only thrown in based on age, etc.)

Dogs trade us Pick 19 (from the dons) for Cloke. We ask for steak knives and end up with Jong.

Dons get their forward line set for the next ten years (Danniher/Boyd), Bulldogs have a serious tilt at the flag for a year or two (Cloke/Crameri), and the pies stagnate.

Might want to switch that question around!
Sco - are you questioning the support the Club has given Marley over the years - many believe if not for the club he could be in jail for assault. Surely they have enough credits in the bank, and it's Marleys turn to repay the club.

I look forward to your rationale for why the club is at fault here.

Pick 19 and Jong for Cloke and you think that will cause us to stagnate? We are making out like bandits on such a deal.

Spot on with Webb IMO.

Webb is a booming precise left foot. Probably has the best boot in the club bar Bont and Murphy - more consistent than Suckling, more penetrating than Daniel and Libba. Has overhead courage and now playing inside mid to build his production. Bev has apparently compared him to Hodge off the record but lacks the campaigner that makes Hodge great.

I'd be devastated to lose Webb who is contracted.

Good get if you can get him.

Would give up footy if we traded Webb for Cloke.

Not sure Sco was implying the club had done wrong by Marley. I read it as Marley is looking to be traded rather than the club wanting to move him on.
