Would love it but how can we look more Attractive then Western Bulldogs, Melbourne, St Kilda and Adelaide.?

All of those have Brighter and more Sure Future the us
I'm as disappointed as anyone with our last few years performances, however I'm still bullish that our future is as bright as all of those teams!

Hurley is about to leave a shipwreck that looks to have a little bit of light on the horizon for the first time in years. Why would he want to go join another sinking ship?

Absolutely no chance of Hurley with no first round pick.
We're not completely without hope of getting a first rounder with a collection of second rounders and the points system in place.

You suggested we give up pick 19 and Jong for a 30 year old has been, what kind of response were you expecting? "Oh dear" is as respectful as one could be.

Secondly, don't know where you've gotten the idea that we are in the market for trading Boyd. Personally I have my concerns, but he's still only 21 and not going anywhere.

Lastly, I'm curious as to how you came to the conclusion that I found my way here by trawling through trade threads and searching for all things Tom Boyd
I just assumed every other club would have a 300+ page thread. I can hardly keep up with ours... I can't imagine going to opposition threads to see who's talking about Pies players, thus I just assumed you must have searched Tom Boyd :p

Anyway, I know what I said. At the time I was moreso throwing the door open to discuss a potential three-way trade between Essendon, Collingwood and the Bulldogs more than anything.

But what do you mean, where did I get the idea from? Been living under a rock? The idea is well and truly out there, even if it is only external and driven by the likes of Damien Barrett. Fact is that IF you want to get rid of Boyd (to free up salary space, avoid a conflict of personalities or otherwise), it will probably actually cost you guys an 'uneven' trade to Essendon as a method of selling them part of his disproportionate wage.

I admit that Cloke is probably not quite worth pick 19 anymore, but I don't think he's worth your second round pick (currently what, pick 30?) either.

I just hope it's not 30 & Jong, because I couldn't see Jong being apart of our next premiership side. That's what we should have in mind. We have enough depth players.

I'm not an avid draft watcher like many on here. Is there any clubs for this to be a chance? 4 of the top 10 last year were academy last year weren't they? Maybe the two Brisbane boys being in the teens. But that created the need for points, but it sounds like there's not many gun academy kids or father sons that clubs would need this?

Gold Coast and GWS both have multiple first round picks plus good quality academy prospects. Its doable, but we won't be the only club hunting those early picks.

If we wanted to go about it that way I would wait and see what happems with Prestia and O'Meara. If GC get a 2017 1st rounder in exchange for either they may be tempted by a couple of early second rounders this year, but on the reverse a club like Hawthorn may need extra currency to land one so we trade those two picks for their 2016 or 2017 1st rounder.

The lesson out of it is that there's so many permutations in play that the only person that could be burned on it is the one in this thread stating categorically that it won't happen...

Well and truly out there? Where? Bigfooty rumours board and a gutter journalist that's been blacklisted from said club. C'mon unplugged, you're better than that.

With all due respect Cloke is a 30 year old who isn't even best 22 in a side that's 12th on the ladder. Couple this with the fact that Bucks has made it clear he's on the outs you'd have to agree that his stocks have depreciated significantly.

So is there any reason why Hurley wouldn't just say Essendon has failed to uphold their end of their contract and walk as a delisted free agent?
Yes he isn't a flog.

No one at the helm during the saga is involved with the club any longer, he'll get a very fat compensation payment at some point moving forward and the only people that it hurts by doing that are his current teamates plus the fans.

People looking for that result are like the Richmond fans that thought Treloar was over the line. It isn't happening!

The AFL wouldn't allow it anyway.
