I get all that I just don't think it will happen.

Who I would back in 100% is Connors. If Hurley says the Pies I can guarantee you he will be a Pie.
He is the best manager in the business.
Fair enough, if you get all of that I'm not sure why you asked me why no other players has gone down that path yet but anyway.

For what it's worth I highly doubt he will go down the breached contract path too but as far as I can tell the option is well and truly on the table for him if he chooses to use it. The Essendon Football Club deserves no favours and anything anybody owed them is null and void after what they've done IMO.

In order to completely veto the trade process he would need to pull the old "restraint of trade" card. I think we're all on the same page that Essendon won't stand in his way if he chooses to leave. With no restraint of trade card to play its a big gamble to choose that tribunal as a pathway whilst completely ignoring the other viable alternative. There's also the say that his manager has and, IMO, Connors is too smart to take that path.

Ultimately if you're as confident as you seem why don't we have a sig bet on it? Personally I'll be happy calling him a floggy mercenary if he's a floggy mercenary in Collingwood colours I just think he's better than that and will choose not to bring things down to that level.
I haven't said at any stage that I think it will happen so why would I bet on it? I've been arguing his ability to exercise the clause. I don't think he would need to pull the restraint of trade card. This is a different scenario to that. He is able to terminate his contract on the grounds that Essendon have already breached his contract, he could have gone to the tribunal as soon as the bans were handed out if he'd wanted. He doesn't need to wait for them to attempt to facilitate a trade.

We should trade our first next year with someone's first this year. We'll finish below the Doggies theoretically this year, so that could benefit them; plus we should be able to get Battle at around pick 13 or 14.

Could some on explain what would be so complex about proving Hurleys contract should be void?

Surely if you ask for your medical records of injections you were given by the club and they cannot be provided that would be enough?

Surely the fact you signed a form saying you would only allow WADA approved drugs to be injected into you which after a grueling 3 year investigation was found to have the complete opposite done to you that would be reasonable grounds?

Sorry but i can't see how Essendon would have a leg to stand on.
