Actually I think Eddie told the AFL of his decision, that Collingwood would wear our predominately black strip, late last week.

Collingwood worn out from last week,
Cats had the week off,
Cats been the best team this season,

You are right, its all adding up to a Geelong victory.

But what do you mean our season on the line? Thats pretty stupid since if you lose the Prelim you get no second chance, that means everyones season's are on the line.

If you believe that, you'd believe that flying at low altitude does make a difference.

ha ha ha ha ha. Commercial liners have to fly above a certain limit. Which wouldn't have an effect at all. Also, wouldn't you just change the cabin pressure ??

Ahh the crap that comes from the Pies is hilarious.

In the week after the match earlier this year didn't the clubs say if they met again in the finals series they would wear altered jumpers with thinner blue stripes for the Cats and thinner white stripes for the Pies? There was a digital preview of it in The Age (albeit in Hutchy's column; maybe that's why the idea never eventuated...).

You would have to wonder, if the sides were reversed, if the same result would occur.
Um ..... what do you mean?

If Collingwood finished higher on the ladder then you want them to wear what? Their clash jumper and white shorts? In which case Geelong would have to wear its' clash jumper and dark shorts?

If you are going to try and have a shot at the Pies at least try and think it through.

Switching the shorts is the right thing to do. If it doesn't resolve the clash to the AFL's satisfaction, they've at least tried to allow both clubs their preferred jumpers.

Common sense? Whodathunkit.

the afl need to send a memo or directive to clubs and inform the media and supporters that the colour of you're team's match-day shorts mean **** all!

prior to 1924 when the then VFL introduced the black/dark-home and white-away shorts rule, Geelong's strip actually featured white shorts. It even looks better on their strip as a whole! Essendon wore them too! White shorts were more expensive to purchase in the early years of last century, so most clubs wore dark.

clubs these days can now afford alternate strips, unlike 1924 when teams needed every cent. thats the reason only the shorts were used to differentiate teams.

If Collingwood was the home team and wore it's home strip, would the AFL force Geelong to wear a clash strip instead of it's home strip?

No, because Geelong's home strip is predominantly white so they would be able to wear it with white shorts .... not rocket science.
