....But for who is anyone's guess. It's obvious a classy midfielder is what's required. Personally I'd make a play for Nick Stevens, he's their only player thats worth anything and we could shave a million bucks off their cash strapped ass. Now Mick might crap on about 'man management years' but if we can get Stevens he'll be 26 next year and have maybe 7 good years left. Two years with no finals means getting an established player is our only option. Bucks desreves to go out playing finals, not just an after thought in another rebuild.

PS If we do lock on to a classy midfielder Balme needs to be kept well away from negotiations.

If I was in charge of recruiting I would be looking at trading for Carltons 1st pick and keeping our first pick giving us 2 top 5 picks in the draft without 'winning' a priority pick

I said Stevens was my choice, and the word is he's unhappy at Carlton and hates Dennis (But who isn't and who doesn't) Your welcome to come up with alternatives. I base my comments with the knowledge that the only decent midfielders will be gone by the time we chose then what happens, we pick the best player who is a Kpp and is 3 years away from contributing to the side?

We have enough soft receiving midfielders as it is.
No we don't, what we have an abundance of is hard workers who lack skill. We need players who can run carry and link up. The backilne is fine the forwardline will be fine, it's in the middle that concerns me.

there is none. Most Collingwood supporters believe we did the right thing offering pick 17 plyus Scotland for Stevens, and that he's not worth a penny more. In fact his value's dropped since then.

Just take the best mid field kid available at the time of the draft.

DO NOT TRADE FOR ANY PLAYERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

eagles are good because they draft players not trade them (only 3 on the list from other clubs -atkins, steinglein and chick)

we will have no bonding, loyalty or quality if we keep gettin people chasing coin and second chances!!!

we have the tradition, facilities and off field personnel so how bout building a dynasty and not a dockers replica

I agree with a trade for an absolute gun but there seems to be a lack of them about at the moment. Stevens at Collingwood would be fine with me but at our original ask(Scotto and a late pick) , no more. He would be good option to build the midfield but he is really only a good winger.

I would see if the Blues were interested in our 3 and 4th round plus an O'Bree/Walker?? type for their No. 3. A longshot but an extra player and another pick for them and another top 5 pick for us.

We need to trade for draft picks, top draft picks. RIchmond did it last year and this is the way to go, not only bottom out but then pick up even more first rd picks

Me either. I am not against trading early picks but for a one dimensional player that has let his club down in finals?

For Conney, Del Santo or similar fair enough but not Stevens please.

if we wanna win a premiership next yr we need a full list available so our gun kids arent gettin belted up each week by bigger bodies and some senior players to step up to form/contractual worth

We'll give you Kayne Pettifer for your first pick :)

im happy for us to trade but not for player! we must get pics! nothin else as per my orginal post
I don't know how true this is but i have heard the players that will be in this years draft are very ordinary??? If this is true (not saying it is) would we rather trade for established players instead of trying to obtain higher picks??? Any way as a supporter i would rather watch collingwood rebuild with younger players rather than tryin to get some 'quick fix' player i think this will do us better in the long run.

Thats the point, ******** draft, we have to turn over a few players anyway, so go for more top draft picks as there is still quality up top. Try to get pick 1-3 and snap up Marc Murphy and then we will be right
