Hello guys
Ive been looking at the phantom drafts and have decided to put down a list of kids people are thinking we will get at 30 and beyond.
Who do you think is most likely to be there at 30 and are we really that interested in this kid thomas?
List of potential picks
PICK 30. Collingwood - Roland Ah Chee, i think Collingwood will look to bolster their midfield depth here and i think Roland will fill into a very nice midfield prospect. Will be very handy around goals early in his career and could have an immediate impact on the pies '10 campaign.
30 - Jordan Gysberts (Collingwood)
AIS graduate, and will add some talent into the Collingwood midfield. I originally thought it wasn't the best time for Collingwood to enter the draft here, but by attaining Gysberts they're not doing too bad.

#30 (Collingwood) – Josh Thomas (QLD)
Height: 178cm, Weight: 70kg, DOB: 01/10/91
Recruited from: Broadbeach
Player comparison: Dayne Beams
Likely destinations: Collingwood (30), Brisbane (27), North Melbourne (37), Hawthorn (39), North Melbourne (41), Brisbane (47).
Why: Can see this happening and very much hope it does in the absence of Ball or Taylor at this pick. Inside mid who is a good user of the footy.
30. Collingwood – Ben Griffiths – Collingwood would have no hesitation in calling out Griffiths’ name on draft day as they would not have expected him to slide this much. His injuries are the reason behind this, but if he can overcome these issues, he will be a steal. I have doubts on whether he will be able to achieve this. Selection for need and if he stays injury free he would fit in nicely with Cloke and Anthony once he gets a bit of size about him. He will probably be gone by this selection come draft day.
Others considered here: Carey would have been a good fit at the pies but with Griffiths still there the decision was made easy.
#30 Collingwood - Josh Thomas
After Beams last year, this just seems like the right pick to me. But Thomas is actually deserving a top 30 selection, so it's not just the Queensland/Gold Coast factor. Thomas is a very promising midfielder, and wins plenty of contested ball. I haven't seen a lot of him, but by all reports he is one of the better players to come out of Queensland in recent years.
#60 Collingwood - Ayden Kennedy
I think Kennedy could go in the third round at some stage, but could also slide to the rookie draft. I think Collingwood will look towards a forward at the back end of the draft, but there aren't a lot of options. Kennedy is more a lead up forward, but he is a good kick on goal and is athletically pretty good. He is a bit like John Anthony, but I think they could work well together and will be hard to mathch up on.
#66 Collingwood - Nicholas Winmar
Winmar is a medium/tall forward who could also be one to go a lot higher than this. He is strong athletically, and his good both on the ground and above his head. He will need time to develop, and to work on his endurance in particular. But I can see him developing into a more than handy half forward who can push up to the wing. Winmar could prove to be a big steal this late in the draft.
# 30 – Collingwood
Alex Carey / Glenelg / 181cm / 79kg
# 62 – Collingwood
Serhat Temel / Calder Cannons / 194cm / 89kg
# 78 – Collingwood
Claye Beams / Labrador / 182cm / 78kg or Daniel Harris / North Melbourne
PICK 30 – COLLINGWOOD
NAT FYFE (CLAREMONT)
Smarting over their failure to snare Ball (they probably will, but let’s move on), the Pies instead shift their gaze to a different player altogether and trust that Beams and Sidebottom come on again next year and assist in terms of the midfield clearances, at which they suck when up against the better teams.
He kicked 8 and took 15 marks in an August game and has some serious x-factor about him, with his work ethic variable but solid. A third tall, he won’t solve the Pies issues up forward himself, but he’ll be very very handy and should get the social club jumping early in his career.
#30 (Collingwood) – Josh Thomas (QLD)
Height: 178cm, Weight: 70kg, DOB: 01/10/91
Recruited from: Broadbeach
Explanation: Talk is he will be at the pies in 2010. Classy mid from same club as Dayne Beams.
So these are the kids people are talking about.
Lets discuss

Also I'm not sure we could get Claye in the rookie draft haven't Gold Coast got some choices in that?
