YES I'm jealous of Collingwood and that IS because they are hated.

My AFL club (until 1996) was Fitzroy, and it actually gave me the shits to receive sympathy from fans of other clubs.

We couldn't be hated, basically because our team/club was lucky to be able to fight its way out of a light fog. In fact, we were reknowned as being everybody's (generalisation) SECOND CLUB. Wordy lordy!

This expanded to the point where the Coodabeens penned 'Deep in our hearts everybody barracks for Fitzroy', and then the Lions THEMSELVES tried to cash in, offering a 'Second Club' membership for fans of other teams to support the Roys. Cringe like there's no tomorrow.

I always wished we were hated, loathed, whatever. Gameday was magic, opposition fans usually forgot their patronising sympathy and tended to hate us for a day, but this happened through a lot of work via our ground roots fans, he put the big steps in at the outer, inciting folks to hate us.

But by Monday, there were too many 'bad luck about your blokes'es ... and not nearly enough Nelsonesque cackling.

Now that Fitzroy has (arguably) gone under, its worse. Fans like myself actually need BOTH the sympathy AND the hate! Cripes the limbo's a pain.

So, yeah, I consider myself jealous of Collingwood in that respect.

And now it's beer time.

Sorry to disappoint you but kmh and myself are definitely not the same people.

I only occasionaly jump in to these boards which occasionaly has some posts worth reading.

OK, these stirring posts aren't the most intelligent but it is fun having a shot at opposition teams and have them cracking back.

Think of this stirring as a pre-season for supporters. Come Ansett Cup time you will already be in fine voice thanks to the ground work you did stirring on these boards!

Most of the posts that KMH started are only team versus team with very little personal stuff (except for WestyBoy and Frodo). I think that is good.

I also think that some of the club defenses have been quite good as well. And KMH is right, it is more fun than date matching or whatever.

And i am sorry greatly with the way fitzroy wre treated by our scumbag commission.

You should still be in our competition under the name of FITZROY,you too were an old club
and to be quite honest im ashamed at the way you were removed from the comp.
As football loving supporters we all should hang our heads in shame and bloody pray like hell that we never ever see anything like that again.
