Melbourne have one of the best in the business at the helm of our list in Craig Cameron. Many other clubs have proven to have consistent recruitment managers that appear to stick to particular criteria or procedure when it comes to both drafting talent and developing rookies or late picks etc
But Collingwood can't appear to get past father/son picks and reputation. Now this may be something to do with the picks themselves, but I refuse to beleive all of these picks ahve been bad choices.
Many in the AFL fraternity beleive it could actually be due to the way in whcih Collingwood treat their draftees that has an adverse effect on their development.
There is a common complaint that collingwood both overrate their youngsters, and don't make them work hard enough to get a spot. For example, Brayden Shaw is meant to be fighting for a psot on any other clubs list at the moment, but own't try, won't run, won't lift his head at pre-season training. all sings that his ego was pumped up too much by collingwood, and that physically they didn't having work hard enough.
Will this result in Collingwood attempting to poach recruiters and list managers who actually know how to develop young talent? For too long Collingwood have relied on recycling past greats or overpaying poached megastars.
That can only take you so far.
Murphy is the standout midfielder in this draft because he was drafted ahead of Thomas.Zeke's talking out his arse!ant555 said:And what happens if Murphy ends up not being that good ,just because he went at no1 it doesnt guarantee he will end up being a star . The best midfielder in a draft that didnt have a stand out midfielder.

Luckily for you the CBF exists now. Back when the agenda was to get footy on Sunday live into Melbourne lounge rooms there was no CBF to keep creditors at bay.RedLegs#5 said:Sorry...you'll have to explain. We didn't merge with Hawthorn. You did move. I'll let you go and ponder the answer...and while you're at it.... give you time to find a fist to put in your mouth..

Melbourne recruit so well, where the flags, where are the GF appearences? No where to be seen so yeah you are on fire.
Despite getting priority picks every second year you still don't have a back-line worth ******** and are as soft as butter. Keep up the propaganda.
MarkT said:Good lord, he’s at it again. Rick the Melbourne fan is worried about Collingwood. I always get a laugh when clubs with EVEN WORSE records than Collingwood have a dip. Honestly, what have Melbourne achieved since 1964? How good is Melbourne’s list management? Good grief. If there is such a thing as a second rate Richmond Melbourne are it.
As far as Collingwood's list management goes I have serious concerns. Frankly you don't sit bottom 4 two years running with or without injuries without have drafted poorly. The 2005 intake has promise. 2006 who knows.
