Colliwobbles

It was hardly Colliwobbling last Saturday. On paper the Pies should have been thrashed, but you've got to admire their fighting spirit.
I wouldn't really call it one that got away for Collingwood. They did damn well to get as close as they did; and much as I'd love to see the Colliwobbles return, Saturday's match could hardly be described as that.

You people obviously have no recollection of the glorious losses from 77, 79 and 81. All fighting losses, just got rolled by the better team on the day. I've never seen Collingwood launch a glorious winning assault against all odds, it just doesnt happen with them. They're habitual losers.

What happened on Saturday encapsulates the very essence of the Colliwobbles....believe me, they're back!

Have fun playing with your wooden spoon, your $20 million debt, your loss of two draft picks and watch with delight when your club implodes in the upcoming election..

In 1990 Collingwood finished 2nd to a far better outfit in the regular season in Essendon yet overcame them twice in the finals.

You are just posting the usual garbage.

When you also consider the 5 point loss to Melbourne in '64 and the one point loss to StKilda in '66, Worm might have a point here.

But I think the difference is that Collingwood used throw away GF's that they were good enough to win, there is no doubt that the Lions were the better side this year and C'wood did a good job just reaching the final.

I think the pies fans can relax, the wobbles aren't back - yet.

This is just an obvious troll.

As much as I wanted the Lions to win, Collingwood should be proud they finished 2nd out of a 16 team competition.

The wobbles are dead and buried.

They simply lost a GF, not lose it from the jaws of victory as the case in 1981 and 1970.

Collingwood were good enough to win THIS grand final, make no mistake. They're just losers, if they had the winning mentality of an Essendon or a Carlton, they'd have won. But they haven't, they're losers, always have been in my lifetime. 1990 was an aberration, the Colliwobbles are well and truly alive.

The Colliwobbles was a term coined by Lou Richards. The same Lou Richards who burried them in 1990 under the ground at Vic. Park. In the last 3 years we have wobbled our way up the ladder to second place about 2 years before anyone believed possible. They are speed wobbles you see.

Who bloody cares ?
Collingwood's Grand Final record is akin to Greg Norman's pathetic choking performances in all the majors, history should record both Collingwood and Norman as two of Australian's sports biggest failures.

Collingwood were always Carlton's b#tches come finals time, Carlton invented the Colliwobbles, we coined the term, it was Carlton supporters who first yelled it, don't lecture ME about history little boy.

The Colliwobbles are still alive, who'd have thought it after 32 years, hahaa!

When the term Colliwobles is raised the names of Neil Crompton's goal to win the 1964 Grand Final or Barry Breen's point to win the 1966 Grand Final come to the fore. Last time I checked, 1964 came before 1970.

I will lecture you about Collingwood history because you know nothing about it Wooden Spooner.

Yes Welcome Back

Colliwobbles most definitely back thanks to Tarrant and Licuria choking.....and the Davis brothers with virtually no touches....and Molly...hopeless.

Not a bad effort to get close but come on guys a third of your goals came from dubious frees, Brisbane had nothing on the bench, and the conditions really suited the Pies.....if you couldn't beat saturday in a GF you never will.

Had your chance....2002...Lions 1st.....2nd ....who ?

And still the same argument from Bitter Pies losers will say - At least we made the grand final.
Sorry but making it isn't good enough for Carlton standards (the only possible exception being 1999 when at least we knocked the Bombers out of the finals) '

Winning mentality of Essendon or Carlton? Didn't Essendon also lose to the Lions in that last day of September 2001? Didn't Carlton only win 3 games this year? That's hardly a better winning mentality compared to the Pies. Colliwobbles is just a word supporters of pathetic teams use to detract attention away from themselves.

Grow up and use the term Colliwobbles only when it is really necessary, when we actually do choke under pressure, not when we go down fighting against a team that is far superior then any other 15 teams in the competition.
