Not sure about the second paragraph. Just looking at someone like Quigley's draft, who is universally seen as one of the more knowledgeable, he has a few guys lower down compared to everyone else (Plowman 22, Garner 42). Don't think that means we should discount his opinion...

Nah, that's not what I mean. Those are outliers, but they aren't major outliers. Maybe if he didn't include Garner at all, or had plowman at 80, then you would eliminate them. The only reason I added this is because I think you are trying to include more than just the respected phantom drafters, right? So, some of these other drafters may not have put as much time in as guys like Quigley, Chris25, and KM. That doesn't mean their opinions should be totally discounted, but they may have overlooked some players, or forgotten them, and just because they weren't as careful and considerate as KM and co, I don't think that should reflect upon the combined draft position of the player. You might not have even come across a major outlier, in which case, that's cool.

Yeah I get you. Sounds good...

Also, if there is just one draft that is an outlier in a non selection, then I'd eliminate it for that selection. For example, if some phantom drafter doesn't choose Whitfield at all, but he is #1 in everyone elses, then just eliminate that outlying result. A player who is widely tipped to go high doesn't deserve a massive hit to his average based on one person's opinion.

Eliminating one because it's a massive outlier? That's crazy talk! :D

haha. I agreed with the principle, just argued that it's application in that particular case would not reflect fairly on Thurlow's performance in those games. Smoothing out the data by eliminating an outlier in a sample of only five would unfairly impact on Thurlow's data. And in Thurlow's case, it is not as though it is a crazily unrealistic outlier, like someone not including a person who has been taken by every other phantom drafter in the top 20, for example. Plus, in Thurlow's case, I think the data is smoothed out a bit by the fact that the game where he scored 46 was such a bizarrely low DT scoring game. He was Tassie's third highest possession winner in that game, if it were a higher possession game, you'd expect his DT to increase also.

But enough of that :p

Sorry! I updated mine. Hopefully it doesn't affect results too much.

Na that's all good man. Thanks for letting me know - that's the reason I posted the initial results to see if there was any change...

Last call for any draft updates or new drafts all together. Will do the final updates today before 4 and then provide the final results at some stage tonight.
