Um....no thanks...............not in a million years!!!! Why would we want a player who didnt want to play for us......he should just take his premiership medallion, which he's lucky to have and F*** OFF!!!

Couldn't have said it better myself.

**** YOU NICK DAVIS.

I think it would be worth recruiting Nick back to the club, only to have Danny Stanley and John Anthony kick the living **** out of him upon return.

We can then terminate his contract.

Err, I'd have him.

Surely if you push the immurity aside, he is clearly a best 22 player and would have an effect on our team for the positive.

Exactly. He's a quality player. He even has a chance of growing up - nobody has stood up to him before like Roos has, so his petulant behaviour has allowed to continue for years up until a week ago.

Yeah Nick left on his own terms. Said over and over again he wanted to stay and then pulled the pin. That's why he didn't get an invite to the Pies B&F because everyone felt used/ripped off. Remember Eddie coming out once saying we only want players that WANT to be part of Collingwood.

The guy has a chip on his shoulders bigger than his talent. Roos apparently warned him at the end of 2004 and he came back fitter and a team player. Looks like he's returned to his usual form.

Collingwood don't need this kind of personality.

My recollection was that he was allegedly quoted as saying that if we'd won the GF in 2002, he would have stayed.
That's why the club was so dirty on him.

Timmy I'm not saying we wouldn't find a spot for him. But we would have to give up a fair bit for him. It would be better spent on a good midfielder, a backman or a ruckman.
Re-sign Bo Nixon, then trade him to the Swans for Davis

The only relevant issues are whether he would improve the list the list much (yes) and would he fit in and not cause more harm than he is worth (unknown). We should examine the latter and make a call without pride getting in the way or we are not a football club dedicated to wining premierships. If the assessment after talks with him and about him are that he will put in and do it permanently then it all depends on the deal. If we were to go ahead we should make sure he makes it clear that he wants to go to Collingwood and we should offer no more than they gave us but preferably less. If Nick wanted to come back (which I doubt) he should make sure no one else will touch him by making very ambiguous statements about his desire for footy etc and act immaturely when speaking to other clubs which shouldn't be difficult.

MarkT don't you agree that whatever we use to bring Nick back could be better used on something we need more like a quality midfielder or ruckman?
All depends on price. He isn’t in demand then the price would be low. If we could get him for, say, Jason Cloke, then fine. If they want a second round pick then the risk isn’t worth it. If we knew he would get and remain focussed and determined it would be a different story. He is very talented but very limp.

As for what we need he is actually a quality midfielder. He doesn't have the pace we need but he has everything else. Daicos wasn't overly quick either but he was a gun midfielder. Davis, more so than Didak as peiople claim, is like Daicos in terms of his skill set and ability but as I said he is very limp. if we wnat a ruckman we are going to have pay. It's either pay a high price, miss out or punt on Gardiner I think. Again, the Gardiner price depends on demand.

I doubt Davis will go for a small price, he will be in high demand. As for his midfield ability I have to disagree there.
