There hasn't been a trivia question for a while, so while were waiting I have one of my own.

Against North this year Luke Darcy, running into goal bounced the ball only to see it bounce over his head and into the lap of his direct opponent(not a bad effort-how tall is Darcy, maybe he should do the centre bounces and then contest them himself)

My question is; What Footscray player did this happen to in the early 1970's?
A couple of clues. The two players involved are still involved in AFL footy. One is the recruiting manager of an AFL Club, and was playing at full back . The other is the father of a current AFL footballer and was playing at Full Forward.

And isn't Gary Merrington's son also playing AFL? Andrew at Carlton?

Right on both counts guys. I forgot about Young Mr Merrington. Does anyone remember seeing it? If I remember rightly it was at the Barkly street end and Hudson had chased Merrington for about 50 metres.

No, don't recall it. But if it was early 70's, I was there in my late primary school years. My memories of Gary Merrington are #19 and a bit of a funny kick, though I can't actually picture it in my mind now so I'm not sure why.

Didn't Hudson actually kick a goal? I seem to recall it being a bit of a story at sportsmens nights - the only time he ever chased anyone!

Strolled into an open goal really. Merrington took a while to work out what happened. We all stood there and went "oh Shoot"
