I have been watching the replay of the 1992 GF...AGAIN...there was a classic in the midfield where Matera was headed straight for Ablett and hand passed at the last moment to someone, and ducked around Ablett who was left high and dry, Dennis said....

"If this were Bridge, Matera just trumped Ablett."

Pity Dennis does not like the Eagles. Though years ago when channel 7 used to show all the commentators in playing jumpers to show off their array of commentators, Dennis was wearing the Eagles jumper with Glendinning in the North Jumper and Quinlan in the Fitzroy jumper.

Who else remembers that ad?

Yeah, that was the "BALLLLLL" ad. Ch 7 deserved to lose the football rights for that ad alone - if not their broadcasting licence.

Rog, if Dennis could ever be accused of being keen on the Eagles, he's well over it. Did you read his column in the West after the elimination final?

Are you sure you haven't been abroad or something ? Have you been reading the papers and listening to his comments ? He's much more inclined to talk the Dockers up than the Eagles. During the entire season I never heard anything positive directed to the Eagles but his last comments on channel 9 this year was about the Dockers. He proudly said that Freo was the giant killers... etc, but a few days later wrote an article in the West against the Eagles and Woosha.

Don't worry about it, RogerMellie like all Docker supporters think everyone is against them them - It's only their rabid paranoia that keeps that Dockerland ticking over.

I'm assuming a lot of us here used to watch Commetti Live. The consistency with which Dennis used to refer to John Worsfold, the team's effort on the weekend if they had won, the old guernseys and West Coast's finals chances as "terrific" was surely proof enough that he liked the Eagles.

If you watched the round 21 Freo/Essendon game you would've heard Commetti wax orgasmic about how great it would be for West Coast if Freo won the game. And this wasn't said with Dennis' famous "impartiality", it was with wide-eyed enthusiasm.

Dennis is a fan of Chris Connolly, but he was an absolute sycophant towards Woosha up until his alleged snub of the 6PR commentary team.

To be honest, I don't care who Commetti supports, but I'm stunned anyone could think that his allegiances lay with the Dockers.

And Jabber, tell your ma to get off the dang roof.
