BEEEEENNNNNETTTTT I thought you were?

DEAD? You thought WRONG!

THis is my all-time favourite movie. I helped set up www.commandofans.com a couple of years ago. I used to get home pissed every night, and watch this film from start to end and cheer all the un-necessary violence and great lines.

"Cutting a little girls throat is like slicing through waaaarm butter"
"SHUT YOUR MOUTH! AND PUT THE KNIFE AWAY!"

You helped set up commandofans!? RESPECT. I'm proudly a member :)

Absolute killer flick. :thumbsu::thumbsu:

Arnie: You know how I said I would kill you last?... I lied.

awesome

Had another viewing of Commando last night. If their has been a better movie created....I am yet to see it.

whats in the two disc version apart from the obvious movie in the first?
Audio Commentary.
Uncensored version.
A few doco's about making it.
Plus the picture and sound have been remastered, looks and sounds awesome.

Looked in the advance Melbourne guide and Commando should be on Channel 7 saturday night (late night movie ftw!).

I rarely watch movies on FTA, most of the time tv schedules only serve as a reminder to watch my dvd copy of what they are intending to show (cuts out commercials :D).

I havn't watched it for a few months, so i'll be pulling it out and i encourage others to do the same (if you havn't watched it recently).

Was on again last night. Gem of a movie.

Love how they get in the sea plane and it won't start so he punches the control panel and it suddenly roars into action. "Works every time!"

Watched a little last night while waiting for the footy to finish.

The part where he destroys an army of men ,blowing up barracks and the like is ROTFLOL gold.

Saw it, not bad. Crappy FX, did anyone else the the dummies held up with sticks? Not a good look.

Predator still the best.

I like hearing your chickenshit soldiers try and talk tough. It makes me laugh. If John was here he'd laugh too.

I have too much film related junk saved - I was going through my garage the other day and found a 6 foot cardboard standee for Commando (basically Arnie from the waist up) which I nabbed from the Chelsea cinema over 20 years ago. Must admit, it does look pretty cool.

That might be the most precious piece of memorabilia currently in the southern hemisphere. I'll give you $20 for it.

Bump. I love this thread.

This list is what makes Commando one of the best films ever.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0088944/goofs
* Continuity: The yellow Porsche is damaged in the side collision with the red convertible, but when Matrix flips it upright and drives off in it, the side is undamaged.

* Revealing mistakes: When Matrix is climbing up the cliff at the island, you can see that the shotgun on his back is made out of rubber.

* Audio/visual unsynchronized: At the part where Matrix is about to kill Sully, Sully pleads that Matrix needs him to find his daughter. Matrix then responds, "Where is she?" but the closed captioning says "Open the door" and is distorted.

* Crew or equipment visible: Cable holding up Sully by his shoe as Matrix holds him over a cliff.

* Continuity: The same guy with the long beard dies at least twice during the final shootout.

* Continuity: When Matrix enters the shopping mall, it's daylight. When he leaves only a few minutes later, it's dark outside.

* Continuity: When Matrix jumps off the plane, the landing gear is almost completely retracted. When Matrix looks back at the plane after landing in the ocean, the landing gear is extended again.

* Revealing mistakes: In the fight scene in the motel room, Matrix grabs Cook's arm and forces it through the glass tiling in the bathroom. The tiles wobble and fall away without resistance and in a closer shot you can see that there is no cement or other bonding material holding the individual tiles together.

* Miscellaneous: When Henriques is being stretchered off the plane, covered in a sheet, the other people on the plane in front of him do not notice at all. Why aren't they looking back in shock?

* Continuity: When Matrix jumps from the landing gear of the plane, he lands in water and gets his trousers and some of his jacket wet. Although he takes his jacket off, in the next scenes, his trousers are completely dry again, only a minute or so after getting out of the swamp.

* Continuity: Before the final shootout, Matrix plants explosives on the edge and around the different buildings, yet when he detonates them, the explosions clearly come from the insides of the building (and the top of one of the watchtowers).

* Revealing mistakes: When killing people using the M16, during one of the overhead shots, a man is "shot" even though Matrix is not aiming in his direction.

* Continuity: When Matrix gets to the house where Arius is he fires over thirty rounds from an M16A1 rifle that has a twenty-round magazine inserted in the magazine well.

* Continuity: The amount of blood on Bennett's face in various shots in the fight with Matrix at the end.

* Continuity: When Matrix tells Bennett "I'll be back!", the car window is almost completely closed. Matrix shuts the car door and in the very next shot, the window is open.

* Continuity: When Bennett says, "Your training, Matrix!" he is clearly excited, but in the next shot he is all serious again.

* Continuity: When Matrix is raiding the surplus store, and enters the hidden room full of guns, he grabs the rocket launcher off the wall and hands it to Cindy. After he says "Go!" and she leaves the room with the rocket launcher, the next shot of Matrix shows it hanging on the wall again.

* Continuity: When Matrix and his daughter walk into the water, their trousers are already wet.

* Crew or equipment visible: In the final battle scene, several times when someone is blown into the air by a grenade you can see the ram that throws them into the air.

* Continuity: In the fight between Matrix and Arius, Matrix rolls out and fires his shotgun repeatedly at Arius leaving blood stained bullet-holes scattered randomly all over Arius' chest. As Arius falls towards the window, the bullet holes can be seen all lined up in little sets of six.

* Continuity: When Cindy walks out of the airport after Sully hits on her, she's wearing high heels. Then when she walks into the airport parking lot, she's wearing low heels.

* Crew or equipment visible: After Matrix holds up Cindy for the first time, Cindy drives off and the crew is reflected in Matrix's side of the car.

* Crew or equipment visible: After Bennet's reply to Matrix's vow that "he'll be back," he drives away, and the boom operator (and his microphone) are reflected in the rear passenger-side window of the car. (Best noticed in slow-motion).

* Continuity: After Matrix tears the passenger seat out of Cindy's car and gets inside, the car door window is clearly visible, but in the following shot where Cindy pulls out of the parking space, the window is down.

* Revealing mistakes: When the red car slams into the lamppost after the chase with Sully, the head of the "Cindy dummy" flies off.

* Revealing mistakes: Obvious dummy bad guys propped up on sticks after Matrix detonates the explosives at the mansion.

* Continuity: When Matrix is following the guys who abducted his daughter with his sabotaged truck he goes down the forest in a straight line. The guys he's chasing use the road, which has several turns. He would actually overtake them after the second turn. Yet every time we seem him he is about the same distance away from the cars he's chasing.

* Continuity: Matrix rips out the seat in the red car, and sits real low, but when they go down the highway, he's just as tall as the woman.

* Continuity: During the big shoot-out near the end of the film, Matrix is using an M-60 machine gun which repeatedly acquires more ammo (the ammo belt is replenished) even though Matrix has no spare ammo with him, nor any time to reload.

* Continuity: When Matrix and Cindy enter the amphibian plane to take off the guards shoot and hit the plane near the door. After landing when Matrix enters the inflatable boat, the bullet holes have disappeared.

* Revealing mistakes: Towards the end, Bennett pulls off the furnace door but his hands don't get burned.

* Revealing mistakes: When Matrix blows up the building at the end, the soldiers chasing him can be seen wobbling. They are all clearly cutouts.

* Crew or equipment visible: When Matirx throws the circular saw at the first person, wires on the blade can be seen.

* Continuity: When Matrix is "shopping" he puts many guns in the cart but he grabs the pistol and the shotgun shells after he tells Cindy to leave with the cart. Then he is arrested and the weapons that he grabbed after Cindy left are obviously confiscated, yet when he suits up on the beach for battle the pistol is one of the weapons he has and during the shootout the shotgun is fully loaded.

* Continuity: During the final battle on the island, gunfire can be clearly heard in the background, yet Matrix is the only person attacking the base and nobody is shooting at him, who are they shooting at?

* Revealing mistakes: When Cindy has fired at the police van and it rolls over, you can see the piston used to flip the van rolling down the road.

* Continuity: At the end of the film, we see Cindy beach the plane with the nose of the aircraft facing the camera. After the dialogue between General Kirby and Matrix, Matrix and Jenny go to board the plane which is now facing in the opposite direction.

* Continuity: In the fight scene when Matrix is firing the M60, the ammo feeds from the left side, then in the next shot it feeds from the right side. In the shot after that, it feeds from the left side again.

* Continuity: When Matrix is hit by the Porsche, he knocks off the wing mirror. During the ensuing chase, the wing mirror reappears once the chase moves onto the country roads.

* Revealing mistakes: When Matrix swings across the mall, his face is obscured by his arms. However you briefly see the stuntman's face as he lands, before the camera cuts to show Matrix preparing to jump from the top of the elevator.

* Revealing mistakes: When Matrix is swinging across the mall you can clearly see the stunt man's wig fly up when he lands on the elevator.

* Continuity: Shortly before Matrix enters the mall, we can see a white pick-up truck and a grey Renault LeCar stuck in the traffic. At this time, the right headlight and the front bumper on the LeCar were broken. During the chase scene, shortly after leaving the mall, we can see both cars again. Except that the car has been fixed.

* Revealing mistakes: When Matrix and Cindy approach the island with the airplane, Cindy moves the throttle forwards, the next shot viewed from outside the plane inside the cockpit Cindy moves the throttle backwards.

* Factual errors: When Matrix aims the M202 Flash rocket launcher, which fires four rockets, the background can be seen through all of the tubes. The tubes are obviously empty.

* Revealing mistakes: When Matrix is driving after Sully's Porsche, you can see the stunt driver at several points - notably when Matrix veers across several lanes of traffic.

* Revealing mistakes: When Matrix drives the bulldozer into the surplus store, you can see the stunt driver twice.

* Continuity: Towards the beginning, when Matrix wakes up we see Sully looking down at him with no sun-glasses on. In the very next shot of Sully, he's wearing sun-glasses.

* Revealing mistakes: There is an obvious stunt double for Cooke during the fight with Matrix.

* Continuity: When Matrix gets captured at the beginning of the movie the M-16's shoved into his chest by the baddies have the old-style three prong flash suppressor on the barrel. After Bennett reveals himself, a newer A1 flash suppressor (well, newer for that time anyway) is shown.

* Miscellaneous: When Matrix is gearing up to go and find Jenny, he paints his arms and face with camouflage paint and then puts on his combat vest and you see his chest is unpainted. Yet later on when he gets caught in the grenade blast and takes it off, his chest is painted.

* Crew or equipment visible: During a scene towards the end of the movie, when Matrix shoots one of the lone guards from the roof, you can clearly see a blue crash-mat that he lands on after rolling off the roof (4:3 version).

* Continuity: When Matrix stocks up on bullets and grenades from the Surplus store, he takes a huge handful of them both, but straight after in the next scenes they are both back full again.

* Continuity: At the beginning of the movie when Arius' henchmen shoot at Matrix's home, Matrix has a cut on the side of his forehead which keeps appearing and disappearing in between shots while he's talking to Kirby's soldier, Jackson.

* Continuity: During the fight scene with Cooke in the Motel room, Matrix grabs Cooke's arm with the gun and rams it through the glass panes by the shower. While doing this, they knock down the lampshade, which miraculously reappears in the next scene.

* Continuity: When Matrix arrives on the island and exits the dinghy in the water before pulling it ashore, you can see that he has white swimming trunks on which magically turn black in the next scene (4.3 version is better as the screen appears closer).

* Continuity: The commercial airliner that Matrix escapes from in the beginning of the movie is a McDonald Douglas DC-10B. When it lands, it is a Lockheed L-1011.

* Revealing mistakes: When Matrix flips his "tampered" blazer over after the wild downhill ride, the engine is clearly running as evidenced by the white smoke exiting from the tailpipe.

* Continuity: When Matrix arrives at the airport, Bennet is in a Mercedes. The passenger door can be seen to have no rain guard along the top. When Matrix sticks his head in the door to talk to Bennet, a rain guard is clearly visible. As Matrix walks away, the rain guard has disappeared.

* Revealing mistakes: When Bennett's fishing boat is pulling away from the dock there is no disturbed white water from the prop. The boat is either being pulled or pushed.

* Continuity: In the final battle between Matrix and Bennett, Matrix is holding his knife in his right hand. However, when Bennett pins Matrix against the wall, Matrix manages to somehow switch his knife from his right hand to his left hand.

* Revealing mistakes: When Matrix and Cindy are about to take off in the plane, the daylight varies: when they are filmed from outside it's about to get dark, from inside it's the middle of the night and then it's about to get dark again.

* Miscellaneous: When Matrix crashes his car while chasing Sully, neither Matrix nor Cindy are effected by the crash even though neither are wearing seat belts (Cindy isn't even in a seat!), and the crash was powerful enough to severely damage the front end.

* Continuity: When Matrix is viewing the barracks with his binoculars, he is seen moving the binoculars from right to left. However, when the view switches to show through the binoculars, they are clearly moving from left to right.

* Errors in geography: When Matrix gets out of the plane and starts paddling the boat toward the island - there is no island in the background. He is paddling out to sea.

* Miscellaneous: When Matrix jumps from the plane is about 500 feet in the air. He lands in water about 3 feet deep and stands up unhurt, and is only wet from the waste down.

* Continuity: When Cindy fires the rocket launcher the second time, the recoil knocks her back. But when she accidentally fired it backwards the first time, there was no recoil.

* Continuity: Just before Bennett breaks through the door of Jenny's holding cell, you can see about 40 yards up the corridor, which is empty. However as soon as he breaks through the door barely a second later, a group of soldiers run past the door from right to left.

* Factual errors: When Matrix is running around planting his Claymore mines, they blow up entire buildings. Quite impossible as the claymore is a shrapnel filled anti-personnel weapon, not a building buster.

* Continuity: As Matrix exits the shed and picks up the M60 machine gun, he fires at infantry to the right of him. In the next scene, a close up of Matrix's torso, shows a strap across his chest which was not there when he exited the shed.

* Continuity: Throughout the movie Matrix's watch switches from digital to analog. On closeups his watch is digital, but in shots that don't focus on the watch it's an analog.

* Factual errors: A sign in the Val Verde airport reads "Aeropuetro." The correct spelling for "Airport" in Spanish is "Aeropuerto."

* Incorrectly regarded as goofs: When Matrix is hit by sally's Porsche it looks like his wallet falls out of his pocket. However, it is actually the side mirror being knocked off.

* Revealing mistakes: When Matrix and Cindy are flying towards the island and are discovered by the coast guard they dive towards surface to avoid radars; you can see the pitch changes - yet the vertical speed indicator is in a neutral position, indicating no dive at all.

* Revealing mistakes: When Matrix is surprised by the barking dog in the cage on the airliner, the dog keeps barking at something else and pays no attention to Matrix as he moves away from the dog's cage.

* Continuity: When Sully buys the passports in the mall restaurant, he puts them in his pocket, but when he leaves to see whats happening outside in the mall the bag with the passports are clearly sitting on the table.

* Revealing mistakes: When Matrix throws Cooke through the door into the other room in the motel, there are no hinges on the door on which Cooke lands.

* Revealing mistakes: Shortly before Matrix kills Arius, he fires his assault weapon through multiple glass window panes, shattering most. However, no parts of the window frames are damaged, although when Matrix next jumps through the shattered windows, it is clearly seen that the frames are made of wood or an easily breakable material. It would be impossible for Matrix's bullets to have hit the glass windows only with no damage to the delicate framing around them.

* Factual errors: In shots of the seaplane near the island you can see the struts of the landing gear indicating that the gear is extended to the down position. However, in a water landing the wheels would remain retracted. The wheels would only be extended if they planned on taxing the plane up a ramp onto dry land.

* Revealing mistakes: When Matrix is infiltrating the base, he shoots a guard on a watchtower. When the guard falls off the tower you can clearly see that the fence he fell through is a movable gate.

* Factual errors: When Matrix escapes from the aircraft during take-off, he leaves doors open and breaks down sealed curtains. This would set off alarms in the cockpit and leave the aircraft unpressurized in flight; and therefore unable to complete an 11hr flight.

* Continuity: When Matrix (Stunt Double) descends the plane's landing gear his 'cut' is on the left side of his forehead - in the next shot it is correctly shown on the right side.

* Continuity: In the beginning when Matrix has the tree and the chainsaw, the chainsaw bar changes from a dirty silver one to one that is black and says "McCullough".

* Revealing mistakes: When the buildings blow up in the military compound, not only is it obvious that they are totally empty, but also that they are made of cardboard or plywood.

* Revealing mistakes: In the end when Matrix is fighting with Bennett, When Bennett is hitting Matrix with a metal pole, the metal pole is a very obvious rubber prop, because the metal pole bends when Bennett is hitting Matrix.

* Crew or equipment visible: In the beginning as Matrix is pushing the truck over the edge of the hill, you can clearly see a tow cable hooked up to the back of the truck.

* Revealing mistakes: In the opening when Matrix is carrying a big log, the log has obviously been hollowed out, it would have even been way too heavy for Matrix too carry.

* Continuity: Right after Matrix and Henriques take their seats on the plane, the orange curtain behind Matrix switches from closed to open between shots. Shortly after that, as the fly hostess closes the curtain, she repeats the same movement twice.
