the actors name in vernon wells, this movie has so many mistakes it ,such as when matrix and the black girl get into sullys smashed up car the side of the car appears like nothings happened to it

another classic line the guard at the shopping centre

'Wanna see me kick some ass?'

The problem I had with the it was the main bad guy (the bad arse of bad arses) was an Oxford St club hopping ****o. Shaved head, moustache, mesh shirt..........

Could have at least had someone who looked a tiny bit scary.
He was just in his MAD MAX 2 costume :D

A top movie. No pretensions of being at all serious, just a load of (very violent) fun.

Where are the action stars of the 21st century? There's not much like Commando, Predator or the like around the last decade or so. The 'true' action flick has been replaced by martial arts, fantasy or sci-fi action movies. All of which I like, but I miss the mindless violence as well. :(

Awesome movie, shame that we were shafed with the 'cut' version when it first came out on dvd. They re-released the 'uncut' version on dvd in 2005, however it is a lucky dip with picking it out, as it is exactly the same cover and artwork on the dvd disc itself... the only way you can tell it is the uncut version is by the running time.

Awesome movie :thumbsu: i wish that today's standard filmmakers would revisit/reuse old techniques like in many 80's films. The Punisher ('04) is an example, didn't rely too much on cgi... it was a great action/shooter movie.

Yeah, I have the 'cut' version on DVD :( But I still have the uncut on VHS ;)

Agreed. Almost felt like it could have been from the 80's. Top flick.

Doesn't matter where you come in if the movie has already started, you just pick it up and are mesmerized all over again.

I hadn't seen Commando for ages, and having just finished watching it again I can safely say that this is true. This movie is one for the ages. Some of your best work Arnie!:D

hahaha how about the bit where he rips a broad steel chain off the fence with his bare hands. I tried to cut one of those with a pair of bolt cutter once and still couldn't get through it. I hadt to go ge the angle grinder.

Gotta love it when he throws that saw blade and slices a third of that mans head off. Quite an arm on him!

You guys can guess where the inspiration came from for my bigfooty username... :D

Sully - "Oh Matrix, here's a couple a bucks to get yourself a beer, it'll give us all a little more time with your daughter"

Matrix - "You're a funny guy Sully, I like you, that's why I'm going to kill you last"

... all the proof you need:

These are the worst soldiers of fortune ever.
I do enjoy their tactic of standing still in open space and firing inaccurately.

The film is written by Stephen E. de Souza, whose credits include "48Hrs" and "Die Hard"... But perhaps less impressively "Hudson Hawk" and "Street Fighter".

Apparently there was going to be a sequel, but Arnold wasn't interested, so the script got re-worked and became "Die Hard"
