OK, synthesising the above, it seems that they (AFL? Foxtel?) commission two match reports - one each from the viewpoint of each team. Perhaps they should make that a bit clearer to the readers.

It's a bit like Mitch Starc being awarded Man of the Match yesterday, before they decided to award Steve OKeefe the, um, Man of the Match.

There shouldn't be a need. I'm still calling nonsense.

Tweeted jay Clarke about it, and to be fair he responded.

Even then, there are a few errors in that article.

Goldy isn't the reigning BnF, Mitch Hibberd wasn't the highest possession getter for North, let alone on the ground, Ziebell only played a half so I'm not sure how he was in the bests and Dumont was North's highest possession winner and clear BOG but wasn't in the bests.

O'Meara touched the ball just 7 times in the second half after a first gamer was moved onto him.
Must say i didnt really notice as I was busy watching Dumont get it 26 times along with five tackles , five marks and a goal. Given the choice between the two with injuries and draft/trade taken into consideration. I know who I'd take.

Pretty sure Sandy called Corey Wagner McDonald in the first quarter. He then was quiet as Wagner got two more possessions before obviously fumbling through his notes and finding his name. Do your job idiot. I just rolled my eyes at my iPhone-sized AFL livepass screen.
Definitely called Simpkin McDonald at one point. Can't keep up with the number changes old Sandy.

Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but it relates to O'Meara so here will do.

There have been a lot of recent rumblings about the North medical team and Saunders in particular, mainly based on the growing incidence of soft tissue injuries (especially hammies) and very long recovery times. Before last year, I never really paid much notice to the negative comments, writing it off as the nature of the game means that there will be injuries and it's a bit unfair to blame the medicos. Last year, and especially this pre-season, has me re-thinking the matter. I'm now more open to the suggestion that there is a problem with injury prevention and management at NMFC.

All that is background to the main point - who the f*** rejected O'Meara when he had his (alleged) medical with us last year? Recall that this was at a time when he hadn't even started talking to Hawthorn (or at the very least, we were in more advanced talks if O'Meara tested with us first). If we had in him the box seat then lost him due to an incorrect medical decision, then surely this needs to be investigated.

It's still February.

If he spends the next two years in and out of the side with recurrences of the same injuries he's had, then it's a good call. If not, well, you may have a point.

Also don't put too much stock into what is said by clubs and players at trade time. There is a possibility that we thought he was a t*sser or he made some disparaging comment about the club so we threw out the failed medical thing.
