I know nothing about ACL recovery, but have a nagging suspicion he'll be back second half of the year.
I wasn't saying he wont be or might not be; but my point was more I bet it wasnt Ahern that Jack said and was probably someone else :)

SEN preview is on here https://www.sen.com.au/audio/

Very, very fair preview. Although they too seem to be unaware that Ahern won't play this year.
Yeah I agree - very fair.

I personally dont care where we finish on the ladder this year as long as we get to see almost everyone on our list get a go.

Whatever happens at least we didnt recruit Chris Mayne. If you are feeling low go spend some time reading the Pies board on Chris Mayne. Some guys on there have taken on the unenviable task of having to stick up for Mayne and his high contract, long term recruitment. Thats real sadness

Nearly a million bucks between he and Wells. Absolutely insane.

Lol wtf?

I'd be comfortable saying that if Wells gets on the field fit for 12 games this year he'll have more combined impact than Mayne in 22.

Edit: Ah, read it quickly / wrong. I thought you were saying Mayne was getting $1M more than Wells. Your point is well made, crazy money unless you are contending. People chalking it up to Bucks getting desperate but looking in from the outside it's possible in their zeal to get all the players on the Buckley train they cut too hard into their senior players (a la Melbourne several years ago). The concept that you can slash to the ground to rebuild is flawed and dangerous IMO. You need significant experience on the field (both gameday and training) to build culture etc.

1.5m between Wells, Mayne and Greenwood.

Prudent financial management.
Crazy stuff. Desperation time for Bucks and Eddie.

FWIW I reckon they'll be alright this year. If Elliot stays on the park and Moore and Cox continue to improve their forward line won't be awful.

They could be so much better if they re-spent that $1.5m.

They can't rely on Elliot to win them games.
Moore is still young and Cox is big average.

But hey, they have Jesse White as well so who says they won't make the top 4....

Sam Newman leaves angry phone message after The Footy Show interview
ALICE COSTER, Herald Sun

A C-BOMBING Sam Newman has unleashed an explosive rant, threatening to punch a man that he later called a “piece of s---” while on-air during the premiere of The Footy Show last night.

A foul-mouthed Newman didn’t mince his words when he left a vulgar voice message with 15 Minutes of Fame website creator Tony Sheahan, calling him a “24 carat c---”, adding the next time he sees him he will “punch his f---ing head in”.

Our TV celebrities on-air jokey personas can be quite different to their off-air personalities, with Newman no exception, although he does have a penchant for a word describing the female anatomy.

All’s fair in love and breaking stories, but not so for the so-called Footy Show scallywag who was frothing with rage.

He took umbrage at Sheahan after his 15 Minute of Fame footage of Newman’s interview Mick Gatto yesterday was published by the Herald Sun, beating The Footy Show to the punch.

But it was Newman who was still ready to box on when he left a c-bombing message with Sheahan just before the show went to air last night.

The 15 Minutes of Fame video shows underworld figure Gatto confirming to Newman he had been approached by Essendon to help sort out the supplements saga in 2014 first broken by The Herald Sun.

Newman name-checked Sheahan on-air last night after Newman’s “exclusive” interview ran, calling him a “piece of sh — t”, with new host Craig Hutchison then stepping in to intervene.

Flicked over to the Footy Show just in time to see Fat Hutch (or "Pillar" as he is now apparently known) complete the 'Lego Walk'........due to the fact that he powderised the Lego pieces as he stepped on them.

Did anyone else think that Sam Newman bore a slight resemblance to Patrick Stewart from Star Trek with his knew cue-ball haircut?! (Not that I've ever watched an episode of Star Trek....just sayin'!)

LOL Peppa Pig outrated the Footy Show. Unwatchable.

I really enjoyed Dal's commentary tonight.

It's unusual from Fox Footy, but they seem to have made two astute appointments with the addition of Dal and Pavlich.

Now we just need Adam Pappalia to commentate more games so Dwayne and his condescending garbage can **** off.
