Scott was talking about giving him five or six games in a row without pressure to hold his spot, which surely wouldn't be relevant to a veteran player.
That approach was thankfully abandoned by Scott in the second half. For starters it breeds a culture of favouritism when you play guys for 6 weeks in a row even if their contribution is to just lay a brown trout. It means we're not playing our best team, lose games and guys deserving of a game are missing out and rightly getting resentful. Long may merit based selection continue.

It was certainly cringeworthy from Bruce but Fyfe handled Bruce's exuberance with grace and eloquence. It would have been easy to fall into the Channel 7 schtick and pander to the masses but Fyfe resisted and actually managed to engage in some tasteful banter himself.

Other winners have acted with with humility on stage, but often to the point where it comes across as almost false modesty and quite disingenuous. Fyfe's words about it being a Fremantle award and recognising the work his team mates do so he can play a slightly more selfish role seemed genuinely sincere.
Couldn't agree more, plus his genuine delight at seeing the pictures of the pub at his home town.

giantroo The Chosen Few doco is being replayed at 11.30am on Friday. You reckon you can work your magic? There's plenty on the main board trying to find a place to watch it too.

There is one posted in the thread by another uploader. I won't give it long before Ch7 make a copyright claim. Not going to risk it myself so if anyone wants to watch it before it gets taken down, here is the clip:

Went to an interesting Age footy chat thing last night where Caro, RoCo and Matthew Lloyd spoke on an informal panel and took audience questions. RoCo is pretty much the same as on radio, big on stats and facts as well as opinions. Caro is nicer in real life and also pleasingly straight-shooting (Neil Craig "not much chop, is he" was one of my favourites). Probably learned the most back room stuff from Lloyd, especially what his brothers shared about Lyon, Fyfe and life at Freo. It's not like inner sanctum, of course, but a bit of fun to pick up more than you get from the papers and radio.

Does Lyon's off camera persona match his at time floggish on camera persona?

Caro comes across on radio well...always thought she has...I rate here highly.

Heard Scott Lucas on SEN last night with an interesting stat. The AFL average for out of bounds on the full is 3.6 per game per team. North's average over the course of 2015 was 2.9 per game.

Last week we had 10 out on the full, the week before against the swans we had 9.

Just to add to this, both are narrow grounds. Neither of which we trained on before the game.
