The question is if we have six or seven on the side at once.
If it was that dire with form and injuries we'd be crashing and burning, they don't have enough pre-seasons in them.

However, hypothetically let's say Waite is out for a game, Mason becomes the main forward and someone else can be a secondary forward. You can slot Nick Larkey in there easily. Or a defender with Ben McKay, or a mid with Ahern.

I don't doubt that we're greatly benefiting by having our senior players relatively injury free, but as the commentators badly underestimated our seniors coming into the season, I believe that they're underestimating the quality of our best reserve players. Zurhaar, McKay and Ahern, for example, will do well when they get their chance.
I would broadly agree but I think it's reasonable to say we don't have a known quantity in the reserves and largely untested.

I love oir reserves and feel like they might surprise a few but even I wouldn't claim we have any proven players that are experienced and able to cover an extended injury list.

Well that is when your depth is tested.

No list can cover an extended injury list that includes some of your top players.

I'm just sayin' I think it could test well. Those names are reliable names, the rest have question marks on 'em. I would trust a few of them to do the job well if our backs were against the wall with injuries.

Point being, I think the media's full of shit again by claiming with have ZERO depth, it's preposterous.

I agree with you on both points. Some of these kids look amazing and they might all come in smash it.

However, it is an unknown quantity at this point.

I know 'depth' is the word to come after 'but' when talking about North, however, I strongly believe everyone is SEVERELY underrating our VFL prospects. They might not be fit enough to run a 4 quarter effort, but they're by no means not talented. I think we have some actual depth atm, not a great deal, I mean we hurt badly when Higgins was out against Port so if we lose our big names sure we might be in trouble. But it's not all doom and gloom with depth.
Think the word ‘depth’ is getting a run because Brad has put it on the table a couple of times.

Probably as a result of last years 'midfield depth' search in the trade season. Still true, to an extent I guess.

In a way it's character building we haven't filled holes with F/A's just yet, the team has had to improve their efforts. Anderson, Jacobs, Simpkin in the midfield has been a revelation.

I don’t know why any of you bother watching these shows when we have giantroo spoon feeding us everything North related.
So true and it’s much less aggravating as you don’t sit through 60 minutes of nonsense to hear 60 seconds on North! Giantroo definitely makes for a much more relaxed Monday evening!

For me we have at least 1 if not 2 players for depth who could slip in and play good football on every line

Fwd - Zurhaar, hrovat
Mid - ahern, mountford, LDU, Hayden (maybe)
Def - Nielsen, McKay , Durden
Ruck - pruess

I think in a month you could add Murphy to that list.
