It's no wonder they catch a cold the moment they walk outside and need therapy because they heard someone mutter a swear word.

Severely declining physical and psychological immunity.

Evolution is going to weed them all out, AND IT'S THE ******* PARENTS FAULT!
I coach my son's U11 football side. I witness first hand the contrasts in parenting and the flow on effects with their kids.

It is without a doubt the over-bearing, helicopter, child-worshipping parent has a negative effect on their child's 'want' for the contest.

It's ends up ******* up the kids for a while too mate.

Some of them harden up, and some of them end up with "mental issues".

This gold stamp worthy Caro sooking.

Did she fire up the same about Richmond being into Lynch midseason?

Oh my goodness this will surely make her arrow..... She must have steam coming out of her ears just like she did when North had the audacity to seek out Longmire and Simpson’s interest in coaching North. It had such a ‘destabilising’ effect on both Sydney and WC. I mean those clubs still haven’t recovered from the approach. I just can’t imagine what a ‘destabilising’ effect this has had on Richmond. I don’t understand what the world is coming too - poaching people from other clubs!! Shock horror! Who would have thought?!!!

That would be *to

On the drive home I told him what it was like playing under 13’s against Assumption and Yarra Valley Grammar at 8.30am on frost covered grounds and his reply made me smile.

“Cam Zurhaar wouldn’t be worried about the cold would he dad?”
I went to Yarra Valley. I swear the school had its own micro-climate. it always felt 3or 4 degrees colder than the surrounding area.

Hah, to be fair, I encourage the Bombers not to engage in proper processes ever though, it provides such entertainmnet.

But seriouslyness, them getting Caracella back (and having to overpay to do it), what a crime against poor old hard done by Richmond.
I’ve wondered for a while if Marc McGowan is a Rooboy? He covers North a lot.
He does the North beat, but doesn't go for the roos. I feel like he gets us though :thumbsu:

Nah, Marc covers both the Roos and Hawks. He’s taken over from Nick Bowen. Does a great job and is one my favourites in the media. He said on Twitter a while back that he doesn’t barrack for the Roos. He was keeping his cards close to his chest in regards to that one.

As an ACK alumni, it certainly brought back memories last night.

I think I played at least 2-3 games in sleet/snow.

Ablett the only player in the history of the game that requests a written thesis every time he misses out on a ridiculously marginal free kick.

Savagery aside, that's a good call Val. Ballet (a certain player from Katamatite aside) is notorious for its harshness on body image stuff with young girls. And I'm not asking Snake to get on here with his snowflake crap either. It's a real thing. These poor kids have to "look" perfect. Make themselves sick trying to be thin enough, etc.

Jujitsu will do the opposite.:thumbsu: Make them strong within themselves and in the world they walk through each day
Thread is off track, but I agree. One of my sons did ballet for a couple of years when he was younger - a friend's mum ran a school and a group of them gave it a go. Lots of work but little to show for it. We were very pleased when he ditched it for tennis, an actual sport you can play your whole life with other humans.

Listening to the radio this morning and they had a chat to an American Neuro specialist who studies sport brain injuries. He reckons they'll be no contact sports within the next 20-25 years because of the damage that is being found. Life will be boring.

Fairly dramatic but I do think our perception around concussion and such will change dramatically.

I've been through the wars on that front and the effect on family is mind blowing once you recover. And not everyone recovers.

Contact sports won't be phased out. But we'll probably protect the head a bit more and one or two concussions might be the end for some careers.

There's a bucket load of money waiting for someone who can invent protective equipment which stops the brain rattling around (will focus more on the range of motion of the neck IMO).
