Heaven forbid someone like football and be a lefty, sheesh

i don't care about his political stance, but when you've made it as far as he has being a great footy journo and over half of your twitter content is blindly supporting a political agenda and retweeting and blocking anyone with a differing opinion he's not doing himself any favours.

it's a shame because he could really escalate his standing in footy commentary and he's someone worth listening too. he could really increase his audience by over double, but instead (unless he's dramatically changed) his followers are only far left footy supporters, which isn't really two demographics that go hand-in-hand.

If you follow him, you would understand that his twitter is for his own personal views, not just football. He tweets about music, politics and whatever else interests him. He also couldn't give a * if you want him to stick to football.

Don't like it, you can FRO.

Yea thanks, RoCo.

It's still over 50% political.

i made the comment here because i never intended on him knowing my thoughts, so him not giving a f*** about my 100% correct comments is just an ad-hominem by yourself.

i have FRO, i don't follow him. but in true tolerant far left style, because you disagree with me you want me to not voice my valid thoughts.

Ok mate.🤪

A bit touchy there. The last line of my post was just a tongue in cheek RoCo style line.

I find it funny when people tell him to stick to football because they don't agree with his other stuff. Like he's not allowed to have opinions on anything else in life. Meanwhile these same nobodies tend to all spout their own views on politics. BTW, what you stated is not 100% correct, it's just your opinion.

Also, nice that I'm lumped in with the Far Left because I've disagreed with your far right views.😉

I never said he wasn't allowed to have a political opinion, I said most of his content IS political.

How was I incorrect?
He is a great footy journo, followed for his footy analysis - correct
He would increase his audience size if he wasn't so political. - correct

Even with the politics, he blocks or abuses anyone (the "nobodies" as you say) who doesn't agree with him. It's fundamentally childish, it's politics, no one is every going to agree!

Also why wouldn't these "nobodies" share their political opinion? RoCo did on a platform that is designed for conversing with fans and followers...

I follow him and am not far left.

Fwiw far left is not someone who thinks the Sky News After Dark crew are a bunch of dickheads.

I stopped following him when he posted a bunch of AOC videos about having a tax rate of 70%, any further and its socialist totalitarianism. You'll think that's centrist, accuse me of being alt/far right for being liberalist and instead of finding middle ground we'll be further divided.

I skipped the time wasting part for both of us.

I'm no tax expert but I don't agree with 70% tax for a heap of reasons.

Not sure where you are getting all the other stuff from.

Triggered people post triggered s**t, even when they say they aren't triggered. It is a reflex triggered response to anything they can not understand; like empathy or humanity or stuff.

How many of them actually like it though? All I see from them is whinging and looking for opportunities to change the sport in to the image of their political gods.

I have some advice for these people, kindly * off and invent your own sport if you don't like this one. No one is forcing you to follow it.

RoCo is fine. Compared to the some of the nutjobs on Twitter. He and Finey still deliver top notch footy analysis.

I didn’t know he was linked with Rita 😂. Surely that’s taking the piss

If you frame everything that Rita Panahi ever posts, writes or says in the media as simply a massive troll of her ex, then it all starts to make sense.

Mate I'm a staunch lefty and I watch at least some of every game every weekend, not everyone is trying to push an agenda, you are just paranoid.

Turned on the radio this morning to find out the results of other games. ABC news reported our match, and noted the score of 19:5:119 stating that "at the time this was the highest score of the season so far", then they announced the StKildas score of 15:11:101 as overtaking North's short-lived high score by a "single point".

Five out of four people agree with this logic👍

AFL Media journalist Mitch Cleary stood down over Brooke Cotchin tweet

The AFL claims its media team is independent, but that didn’t stop the league from coming down hard on one of its best journalists who tweeted about Brooke Cotchin’s costly visit to a day spa.

AFL Media journalist Mitch Cleary has been stood down indefinitely after publishing on Twitter the Brooke Cotchin Instagram post that saw the Tigers handed a $45,000 fine by the league.

Brooke Cotchin’s post had been widely seen before she deleted it early in the week but she had not been named in print or online until Cleary’s Friday night social media post.

Veteran journalist Caroline Wilson had named Cotchin on radio on 3AW on Thursday, with Cotchin the only Richmond wife in the Gold Coast hub at that stage.

The Herald Sun understands the AFL viewed him as an AFL employee ahead of his obligations as a journalist.

The decision to stand him down is believed to have come from the AFL.

The AFL had not named Cotchin in its Friday night release, and the AFL website did not name her in its online report.

She posted about having a facial at the Essence day spa, one of five breaches among AFL clubs that were penalised on Friday and Saturday.

The Tigers were fined $45,0000, with $25,000 suspended by the AFL.

The AFL website has professed independence from the AFL, but Cleary’s post was deleted and he did not appear on his regular Saturday night video show with ex-Port Adelaide player Kane Cornes.

AFL Media bosses have regularly boasted of how they are prepared to cover both AFL clubs and the inner workings of the AFL.

But that level of independence is under question given the AFL’s response to something that was clearly in the public interest.

Former AFL Media head of content Matt Pinkney said of accusations of a conflict of interest several years ago: “Yes, we get a bit of misinformation put out there by our rivals but that’s OK. I hope people will see in time that we can be trusted as a credible news source. That’s our aim over the next few years.”

The Herald Sun and Fox Footy both named Brooke Cotchin on Friday night, given the public interest in her COVID breach.

The Cotchins volunteered to pay the $20,000 fine and the Tigers confirmed to the Herald Sun on Sunday that Richmond had accepted that overture.

Richmond chief executive Brendon Gale said on Friday night: “We acknowledge an unintentional breach of the AFL’s COVID-19 protocols was made, and accept the sanction imposed by the AFL.”

“Strict adherence to the competition’s protocols is essential, and we have taken measures to ensure everyone in our Queensland hub is fully aware of their responsibility to adhere to them.”
