Sheezel been very ordinary? Wow, he still been in our best 3 players. Terrible take

Anyone who thinks his comments on Sheezel have anything to do with form are kidding themselves.

Korn has taken every chance he gets to tee off on him over the last 2 years, and his form has been insane. Record breaking for his age and experience. Kane has a gripe against Sheezel, most likely cause a lot were saying they would have Sheezel over JHF, and telling Korn to f*** off is North’s way of showing Sheezel they have his back over this wannabe firefighting ********.

I was disappointed in Sheezel's response. "Entitled to his opinion or something but maybe went too far yada yada"

Players need to start attacking Cornes, even in a "friendly" bantering way. There is so much material to work with too. A plodding tagger for a crap team. Third best player in his family. Career highlight was being sledged by will minson, a career which only existed because of his dad and older brother who could actually play football.

If they respond with sledges like this, then he would shut up.
A stronger response could be expected from a ‘seasoned’ player but let’s keep in mind Harry is still finding his feet in the AFL world. That’s the whole point to this.

100%

He's also managed to divert all attention from JHF for acting like a complete knob again.

Next time Sheezel is asked about this in an interview, I'd like him to say something along the lines of "I can state with certainty that if I ever play in a losing Grand Final team, my first reaction after the game will NOT be to ask an official what my stats were".

Disagree completely. He stayed classy and looked to de-escalate the situation. FFS he has to play a game tonight!!

Might not have been intended as such, but this whole Cornes thing is turning into quite the piece of deadcatting, given everyone’s anger at the Curtis situation.
Got shouted down, even accused of trolling for saying the same thing.

Although I did say I thought it was intentional and clever by Viney.

I listened to that Harrys world segment and thought he was outstanding. Handled it better than most seasoned campaigners would have. He’s a special kid.

Absolutely loved the response from him when Dwayne asked about Nick Larkey’s kicking. Even seasoned media people wouldn’t have handled that as well. Dwayne threw it at him as a light hearted question and he could’ve just laughed along with him, but no, he’s too clever for that, said something to the effect of “yeah that loss is absolutely not on Nick Larkey, he’s the reason why we’re even in games most weeks”.

Seriously impressive young man.

The North Melbourne of yesteryear would use all of this negative noise to come out firing with an us against the world mentality. I just don’t get that vibe from this current administration and group.

I want the old North back where we pretty much said **** you to everyone and then proceeded to make it our mission to show no matter what you throw at us we will come out and completely **** you up.

Teams used to fear coming up against us, because they knew we would wear them down through pure physical aggression and willpower.

I thought Clarkson might bring that back, but ultimately I feel there is no mongrel left in the dog and we just politely accept our lot.

If this side meekly rolls over to Essendon tonight without putting up one hell of a fight, I think it will speak pretty loudly on where this club is headed.

Tonight should be balls to the wall and whether it’s a win or a loss, I want those Essendon pricks to feel like they have gone 12 rounds with Mike Tyson.

I think tonight will tell us a lot about this footy club, playing group and coaches. I just fear for another insipid performance and the long term ramifications.

I was sort of thinking the same thing. They must show up. They have excuses, but weak teams use excuses to fold, strong teams use excuses to go harder.

Win lose or draw, the below is the North I want to see tonight.

Speaking of which, that game included a performance by Kane Cornes which is the standard bearer for "stat padding".

On that day, Cornes, an experienced player of 140 games, had what remains the second most possessions anyone has ever had in a Grand Final - 37. Along with that he had 10 marks. Sounds good? Well, of those 37, only 7 were contested, he only had two inside 50s and no goal assists. None of the 10 marks were contested, he had zero one-percenters and had 2 tackles. Basically, he had a heap of the footy but most of it was soft, cheap uncontested stuff, he failed to work hard for his mates and he had absolutely no impact on the game despite having the ball more than anyone else. AND his team lost by 119 points.

Yet, hypocritically, he has persistently hounded and teased a 50-game 20yo for "stat-padding" for three years and for no mature reason, and recoils at the idea of that being out of line.

North Melbourne have every right to call this, and his bullying of the President and club in general, out. I applaud them for doing it.

Fair and good call

Wow, I hadn't realised the extent of it. Someone should send this to Kingy.
