Weren’t you surprised when he called out Wellsy as the greatest indigenous player of all time? I know I was. Spectacularly, so. I was very happy too. I always loved Daniel. However, better than Goodes and Franklin over the long haul - if you weren’t a North supporter?Being so cringe, talking up Hawthorn every opportunity she gets, shitting on North.
Even in that video she was shocked Wingard liked Wells. Like, **** off Nat.
A bit. But it's not the first time she's been condescending towards north. Did it minutes later.Weren’t you surprised when he called out Wellsy as the greatest indigenous player of all time? copped a bullet in his arse on a shooting expedition, played the next game. damn tough.Winnie love aside, as a kid going to every Subi game for a decade from mid-70's, Stephen Michael was a towering player in the WAFL, one of the best players I've ever seen.
Seems a beautiful person to boot, despite being one hella hard bastard on field. Great player.
Don't make them like they used to!copped a bullet in his arse on a shooting expedition, played the next game. damn tough.
Franklin is arguably just behind Carey.Weren’t you surprised when he called out Wellsy as the greatest indigenous player of all time? I know I was. Spectacularly, so. I was very happy too. I am still waiting to read the the umpires who umpired our prelim vs West Coast in 2015 have been arrested for fraud
By the way, just as an extra aside: this example is yet another really good reason the AFL should be working to remove and minimise rules that involve "interpretation" in the game. It reduces the ability for umpires to influence a game - both in the funny business sense, but also in general. Games should ideally be determined by the teams as much as possible.Oh I'm with you on that, 100%.
I think they have been negligent for years - the brownlow betting thing ought to have woken them up but realistically, nothing changed at all.
I don't need stats Gaso. My Umpire mate (who featured in the Winston video) was pretty transparent. A Collingwood supporter himself, he said he enjoyed umpiring North games but he admitted that The Geesh hated Carey and hated North. Make of that what you will.It is very difficult to locate historical records online of which Umpires were officiating games
My opinion exactly. Umpires cannot make an interpretation of a player's intent nor can they judge the sufficiency of any attempt to keep the ball in play or otherwise.By the way, just as an extra aside: this example is yet another really good reason the AFL should be working to remove and minimise rules that involve "interpretation" in the game. Agree. My opinion exactly. Umpires cannot make an interpretation of a player's intent nor can they judge the sufficiency of any attempt to keep the ball in play or otherwise.
I hate the idea of the "last touch" rule but I would gladly trade it to rid the game of the "insufficient intent" rule.
As for the deliberate rushed behind rule... This abomination is offensive to the sport.
He's banned from the Doggies as well apparently, Bevo showed some restraint. Reckon he wanted to smack CornNorth gets mocked for banning Corn head. Tonight he baits Bevo on the boundary line. Someone's going to knock Corn into next week if he continues this s...t.
Been surprised too. Imagined he'd sound like a numbskull for some reason.Never really heard Wingard speek before? Seems like a smart guy
A long time ago I worked with a gent who played a bit of WAFL and VFL. He said Michael was the best he'd played against.Stephen Michael was a towering figure in the WAFL, one of the best players I've ever seen.

I think the idea is favourite player rather than categorically the best. Growing up I had Horse and Mckernan as my favourite players, but unequivocally knew they weren't as good as Duck.
Agree. During that period, Anthony Stevens was my favourite player, but it went without saying that Duck was clearly the best.
I'm always bemused by people who assert that Ablett Snr is the best of all time. He was very good, might even have been second best, but Duck was clearly above him and everyone else.
