Don't know how much of the anonymous ramblings are going filter through to anyone that matters
I wouldn't call myself apathetic

Idk this seems like the definition of apathy to me? Why bother because nobody will listen anyway.

Just to be clear though, your belief is that purely because a voice is anonymous, be it someone on a fan forum with a clear documented history of opinion spanning a timeframe of years and demonstrable loyalty to the club, or some random on twitter/X who has made a single post, there is zero reason for anyone associated with the club in any meaningful capacity to pay it any mind? Is this something you agree with?

If you hide behind anonymity I wouldn't take you seriously if you were criticising me.

Just because I don't batch and moan and pretend to hold the club account doesn't mean I'm not passionate. We all go about it in different ways. So knick yourself out.

Nothing wrong with some of that.

A lot of posters made the observation about Dylan Stephens being a bit soft last year which was accurate imo. Doesn't mean that we aren't as well but we're not being paid to do that.

Anyone can say what they want, that's cool. But I doubt Dylan Stephens gives a shit.

100 years in the VFL/AFL. It’s just not that big a deal. Nice celebration, and it was enough. I wish we’d done more for the 150 years of existing and would have been fine giving this a miss, to be honest.
Really. Not a big deal? Spell me.

Being belatedly allowed to join the competition, 56 years after the club was formed, is not the biggest milestone to celebrate. The club’s 150th was more important and should have been bigger. The 50th anniversary of the 1975 flag should have been bigger this year. Feel like we were railroaded into it because the Dogs and Hawks bought in and because the AFL naturally thinks its imprimatur is the most important thing that ever happened to anyone. I have more emotional investment in future anniversaries of 2007 when we refused to be pushed into oblivion by the bastards.

Lovely to see greats of different eras together and the elephant cap is great. But we should have done it all in 2019.

I'd probably think he was a morbidly obese virgin who lived in his mum's basement and was addicted to anime pr0n.
We have met of course. I wouldn't have said you're morbidly obese. More of a dad bod. You probably do need to get out in the sun a bit more though.

Like the rest of us.

Just caught up on the last few pages of this thread, it’s going to be a long break to the Dees game, might pop over to the Zane Duursma thread for some light reading.

Pinned at the top in the " past players " thread Lefty if you can't find it.

The 150 years is bigger, no question. We're talking about club existence, not when * stopped sooking about us taking their recruiting zones.

Interesting that Gullan (who strikes me as being a little bit too happy with himself) and MacFarlane on Fox both said they wouldn't like to see Hodge's son play for Brisbane.
I am sure they said the same about Nick Blakey...not.

Lads and Ladettes

Has there been a lowlight reel of the the umpiring howlers from the Bulldogs game? I'm crossing paths with way too many neutrals who believe it's just North fans having a whinge.

Not really.

To be honest, it doesnt get much coverage unless the game was a lot closer at the end. Doesn't help many factors out of our control led to a bit of a dead game.

Had we not had our outs before the game and the injuries during it, perhaps we get a lot closer and those decisions become more significant.

Of course we did. That record should be unbreakable and it's completely fked that Collingwood will have it next year

it is the way of all things

North strangehold on friday night footy ---> goes to the Pies
North games record holder ---> goes to the Pies
North unassailable half time lead ....

I've posted about this previously but the conversation from the media critical of current ruck contests continues to grow. There was more last night. Seems to be gathering momentum.

On face value they are longing for the high-flying athletic rucks - let TDK do his thing. But really it is we have the most dominant ruck in the comp who under the current rules will be very hard to stop. So how do they stop him... they change the rules.

And who is the latest to lead the charge? None other than Brad Scott. All of the below is just sour grapes as we have Xerri and they don't.... Watch though for the rules to change. Many in the media are joining in.

How do we combat this?

Speaking on AFL360, Essendon coach Brad Scott expressed his concern over the development of ruck contests, expressing his desire for the run-and-jump to return to the game.

“I want to bring back ruck work,” Scott told AFL360 on Monday night.

“We don’t see rucks jumping at centre bounce anymore.

“The ruck rule where you can just come across the line and engage the opposition ruckman… we don’t see ruckman jumping as much.

“The other thing, the sub rule is really hurting ruckman. It’s in the charter of the game that all types, all sizes can play this game.

“I really worry that we’re losing ruck craft.”
