LMac? You're acting like he's some sort of aggressive machine back there. He spends half the game smiling.

You are on here talking absolute rubbish. The supporters have had enough of finishing 17th or 18th every year. It has been going on since 2020.

You talk about entitlement? This NM side is the worst in AFL history. This is year 6 of that experience.

We are a joke of a club at the moment and have been for a while, teams can rest their star players to finish a eight course degustation meal on the bench against us. Average players, terrible culture and contentment to be embarrassingly bad. If you're happy with that then you do you.

Does anyone watch Further North?
I’ve liked that dude up til now, finding him a bit irritating lately.
Latest podcast he kinda ripped into anyone petitioning for people to be removed from the club.
Said that people calling for Jy to give up the captaincy is “stupid”.
Saying people are acting like children.

He makes a lot of excuses for this club. The attitude is part of the problem. Fans like this are part of the problem. Gotta demand more, rather than sit there making hour-long videos trying to positive about how diabolical we are.

He doesn’t get to dictate how people should feel and what they do. I’d say sitting there doing nothing and accepting this shit is a bigger problem. Cmon man.

Get your head out of your own arse for a second and take a deep breath. Just because people choose to view the football club and indeed life through a different lens than you doesn't make them wrong, or any less passionate about North. The supporters aren't kicking the football, or drafting the players or coaching the team. People cope and manage their disappointment in a range of different ways. Listening to someone make a reasoned argument about why they are positive or negative about a certain aspect of the club is much more palatable than some of the hysterical dribble that floats around on this board.

Do you know what will fix it? A bunch of "supporters" bitching, moaning and slagging off the club on a chat site.
I suppose that's what these things are for, but the fact is, no amount of trashing the club is going a change a damn thing.

An outlet for them? Some passion that is otherwise completely missing from the team they support?

One thing is for sure - a dude who makes a podcast, that is almost detrimentally positive and absolutely ignorant of what it takes to be a successful organisation, should not be dictating how other fans act or invalidating the way they feel.

But the venting might make some of us feel a bit better and enable a sufficient emotional state to keep turning up. Which, in case you haven't noticed, the club badly needs

And the bolded bit is exactly what I’d say to anyone making a post, article or video shitcanning supporters for the way they act and feel.

We’re going to finish 17th again, without notable improvement in any metric over the last 3 years.
The way supporters react to that is not the issue.

The people venting are usually people who have invested time, money and emotion into the club they love for years.

They’re entitled to feel what they feel like anyone else.

I’m firmly of the view that I’d rather these legends around giving a shit even when it’s negative, to the alternative. They could go follow another team, or another sport. But here they are - pissed off but passionate and engaged.

No time to be calling them names or invalidating their meaningful support.

I once attended home games and stood behind the opposition cheer squad on the outer giving other clubs lip. That was my happy place. I have not been able to do that for YEARS! My happy place is ruined

Support for the club doesn’t mean automatic acceptance of everything the current custodians are doing.

North fans have been pretty bloody resilient and positive. As much as they vent, you’ll see them at games every week or on here nutting things out and quietly hoping that next week will be better.

As much as we get emotional, we’ve gotta give each other credit. No fairweather bandwagon supporters here. Just shinboners who bleed blue and white. Your feelings are valid. You love this club.
