Commentating by watching the television has to stop. All they do is parrot what we can all see on the tv. How can the commentators get paid so much yet can't leave the state?? Insanity.

So much this. These yobbos are sitting in the comfort of a studio that took them 20 minutes to get to, just watching what we are seeing on the TV. It's basically the equivalent of those reaction videos you see on Tik Tok.I like the term commentatoe - I think it sums it up perfectly.
But it's far more important to have 7 people in the commentary team than it is to have them actually AT the ground.
Let's not forget the purpose of the commentary team is to give nice cushy jobs to certified 'good blokes' who would otherwise be unemployable. Cutting back to the good old days of Bruce and Sandy (who weren't even ex-footballers, let alone 'good blokes' - how outrageous) would mean 15-17 members of the boys club losing their gravy train, and that is completely unacceptable.
It can’t be that hard to improve the commentary. Brayshaw, Underwood, Derm and perhaps BT should go for starters.
That's umpiringCommentating should be done by blind Nepalese monks reading a Braille version of the I Ching.
WRONG how can they pay all the frees to Collingwood if they can't see the guernsey? That's umpiring

i reckon all the racing guys do a great job of the play by play commentary.
McAvaney started in racing and became an exceptional caller.
Matt Hill and Jase Richardson - both very good at the Play calling.
have one of these guys and a special comments.
