Seriously red card these ****wit trolls. They broadcast to an ADELAIDE audience, not a national one FFS.
Isn't 5AA streamed off the AFL website, that'd make it an international audience then. At least I didn't hear anyone refer to a player by their first name, which is all you get off AA or out of the Advertiser.

Yes it's streamed over the internet, but it's first and foremost a radio station broadcasting to an Adelaide audience. People listening to it over the internet should always bear that in mind.

Foxtel is supposedly a national broadcaster and should endeavour to provide a broadcast which is free from bias. They fail constantly in this regard. They don't even try.

If Dwayne Russell ever says "it's party time" again, I'll find him and make him eat his shirt.

"HE GIVES IT SOME SHOE!!!"

Seriously, this w***er would be perfect as commentator for the new AFL game. Just cliches and nothing more from this waste of space.

haha, I thought Dermott's "nothing from me, Dennis" got repetetive, Dwayne would just need 3 catch phrase cliche's and that would be enough.

Same shit non stop, no real footy analysis.

just after the Dangerfield incident, Ivan comes in for some push and shove... and the first thing the commentators say is "stay away Iiiiivan"

At least they got his name right, better than Frawley who ALWAYS pronounced Maric as "Marick"

To be fair, I think they were quoting the umpires when they said that.

Even though I am actually related to him, Dwayne Russell is a horribly biased commentator and is very pro Port and very anti Crows.

Early in the game I heard Spud actually say "come on, run hard onto it" during Melbourne first further forward, pretty poor if you ask me

Yep I don't usually notice but even I noticed the really poor standard of commentating on Channel 7 this afternoon - not sure who the biased illiterates were - but their complete lack of compassion for Patrick Dangerfield when he went off on a stretcher was appalling as was their blatant cheering for Melbourne...

I remember after that game vs Collingwood last year in Round 1 the commentators were criticizing the umpiring when they claimed they missed some calls when I thought that game was well umpired. It would have been a different story if they had won.

Andhony Hudson in the semi final last year = yuck. Don't wanna think about it.

Russell is a tool but the other guys offer NO analysis. No wonder frawley was a shit coach. Give us insight instead of "both teams winless and need a victory today". They have nothing to say in breaks in the game and just waste time talking shit.

... and while I'm at it, it was so annoying how every now and then, frawley would mumble a comment that was hardly audible. Like he's talking to someone else instead of the audience. w***er. I'd take blight or Leigh Matthews any day.

Yet not everyone who listens to AA is an adelaide supporter. The local ABC cover games and yet show no bias.
As for the Foxtel coverage I find it ordinary at best, however the guys that called the game obviously got (and this is fair of every station on tv who has covered the footy in the last 6 years) caught up in the emotion of a team winning when they have only won 7 games out of their last 50-odd.
It amuses me no end that crows supporters complain about commentators barracking during a game having put up with the drivel from AA over the years. (Its exactly the same reason as I dont listen K-Rock when in Geelong.)

The other thing that I found annoying was the w***er that kept saying "Oh, Knights he's another Victorian boy playing for the Adelaide Crows. There's Dangerfield, a local lad from country Victoria playing for the Crows. The Crows have 6 Victorians playing for them today". SO WHAT!!!! Do they ever mention the Adelaide boys lining up for the Victorian teams, oh no! Don't Geelong have the highest number of SA boys playing for them and aren't they the bench mark club, uh? I particularly don't give a @#!#%*()_ rats @#$%! What has that got to do with the match? I think I need my coffee fix....

Clever boy solved your own problem - listen to the ABC

There's a reason why Frawley's nickname is Spud and its got nothing to do with the fact he was a potato farmer. Apart from being biased he is usually just plain wrong. Calling for Tippet to have a run in the ruck when he'd been in the ruck for a good portion of the game already is just one example that springs to mind. He's just a deadset idiot.

Some of the Victorian radio stations use AA broadcasts for interstate games. They are really ordinary but as stated they are intended for Adelaide ears. Dwayne Russell is shocking. Surely there are better broadcasters out there than that ********.

FiveAA makes their intentions extremely clear - they're an SA-based radio station, and proud of it, and they specifically commentate their matches with a bias towards the Adelaide teams. The thing is, there are plenty of radio stations that cover the football, and if you don't want to listen to pro-Adelaide or pro-Port commentary, you can tune in to one of them.

On the TV, we don't have the choice. There is one broadcast team, and that's all we have to listen to, country-wide. It's appalling that the TV commentators openly barrack for teams.

Surely you see the difference?

I dont mind that they barrack for a particular team - but they have to leave their bias at the door and call it fairly. The low point was when Melbourne kicked the sealer and you can hear Frawley quietly saying "Yes!". Gee Im being a big whinger today.

And Im also tired of opposition players and coaches CONSTANTLY referring to adelaide as "well drilled, disiplined... etc etc." Do they even know it? Or have they just heard every other coach/player say it for the last 5 years so they repeat it. Sick of it. And when the Vic commentators dont know our players enough the comment, they rip out the same line "Adelaide are a very disiplined side". Get something new to say!!!

Most the commentators do it in games that involve Melb and Richmond given how poor they have been in recent times. Does not make it right but will continue throughout the season.

Exactly. Lets be honest anyone that didn't support the crows was barracking for Melbourne let alone the commentators so how could they not get swept away in the excitement that was a huge win for the demons.

Bollocks - they get paid to commentate in an informative, unbiased manner. Getting excited about an underdog winning is one thing, calling YES when they kick the sealer is just a bit over the top.

Having said that, it was probably the most accurate and concise thing that Frawley said all game
