Have just read Maxfield's comments on the Swans site and wonder if he is ever going to take any responsibility for the poor performance after the first quarter.

His stats for the year are woeful , he has performed poorly over the last 3 matches including the scratch against Richmond. The lack of communication referred to by Roos would seem to be in a large part - Stue's doing. He is not in the same league as Paul Kelly.

The long list of minders is obviously not working and it is time that Roos named a a couple of able VC's such as Williams Goodes or Nicks to back up Maxfield as he seemed bloody lost out there on Saturday night.

He seemed behind the play and was also off the ground for a good while in the third quarter. Not the sort of thing you want to see with a Captain when his side is struggling.

Stop trying to be Captain Teflon and take some responsibility.

Roos the minders trial has been a failure and its time to name VC's.

You know what? I actually agree with you on most things here.

Maxfield seemed in great form last year (before getting injured), and the year before - seemed to have licence to run riot and tear strips off the opposition. so far this year, he has been VERY quiet. I realise that he is coming back from injury and I hope that is the reason he is struggling. I won't condemn him yet - it is still early in the year, and in his captaincy. The loss in Perth is not entirely his fault, we are short a few "take-charge" men in the middle - and Stuie used to be one of them.

Captain, vice-captain, all these tags are to a degree irrelevant. We need guys to stand up and be leaders when it matters, whether or not they are the "official" captain.
