Might not mean much to you, but commiserations on todays game.

For what it's worth, it's extremely hard when your team structure is screwed by injuries. Especially when it's players like Neitz, Robertson and Johnstone.

Dunn's a good player. Liked his game.

Good luck for the rest of the year.

The footy gods just arent smiling on us. I cant accuse the boys of playing badly, they are trying as hard as they can, theres just not enough class in this side at the moment. We will turn this around. The team will walk alot higher with neitz and mclean back in 2 weeks.

They played a with a lot more spirit then previous games, just the fact when you are missing a third of your best 22 it's going to be hard to beat anyone

There were almost more Freo fans there than ours. Can't believe we've been abandoned so much by all the glory hunting dogs who jumped on board in the last few years. Watch them all crawl back when we start winning again.

16k is a terrible effort. We have 26k members and probably another 15k supporters who are MCC members but not MFC members. That's approximately 40k Melbourne supporters with tickets that give them access to the game. They should pull their finger out and support the boys through thick and thin.

True that, I would be encouraged by the form of Dunn , Bate , Johnson & Miller though and the fact they fought it out to the end.

Yze is a freak when He is on.

They fought to the end? What game were you watching?

To explain my position a bit better:

Credit to the Dockers - they didn't play super footy but were pretty solid all day. Still room for improvement, but they'll be happy they are up and running for 2007.

The way the DOckers were able to create the loose man coming out of defensive 50 I thought was pretty good. They always looked like they had one or two good options to kick to. Pavlich ripped us apart.

For us Demons, well the boys had a go - and that first quarter gave me a bit of hope. But we still lack clear direction, and although blokes like Yze had okay games, I still felt we lacked genuine leadership.

Although Miller can show glimpses, he still struggles to put four quarters together, and to hold on to his marks.

While the Dockers found targets up forward with ease, we would too ofter kick to 2 on 1 contests.

Good to see Davey go somewhere to getting some form back, plus Pickett and Sylvia, although still lacking match practice, will be better for the run.

The defence was average - it's funny how we seemed to lack tall defensive options but dropped both Ferguson and Holland.

I would have preferred Holland and Ferguson to PJ as a defender. PJ needs to learn to become a ruck and/or a forward before even worrying about becoming a defender.

PJ was good today but he wont ever be a tall backman so why not play Ferguson or Holland, how would you feel being one of those blokes.
And why include Bate back in the team, I've never seen a player more in need of a game in the VFL, where he can have more time to work on his disposals, where was Chris Johnson, much more usefull in the middle than bate.

Yep he'll be a player when he puts on a bit of bulk over the next couple of years. God knows we'll need him to be.

Yo Bo, i'm convinced that he will be nothing more then a good half forward flanker after seeing an 18 year old puss all over us last week.

Farq i hope i'm wrong.
