Slight bump. Love this show.

As much as I liked the Zombie special, the latest 'bottle' episode is a refreshing turn from the parodying.

"Okay, if I could just take this time to share a few words of sarcasm with whoever it is that took this pen? I want to say thank you for doing this to me. For a while I thought I’d have to suffer through a puppy parade, but I much prefer being entombed alive in a mausoleum of feelings I can neither understand nor reciprocate. So, whoever you are, can I get you anything? Ice-cream, best friend medal, anything? M-mh? Okay. Sarcasm over."
Classic Abed.

Also, Annie's Boobs. That is all.

Abed constantly beating us over the head with obvious metacommentary is getting a little annoying, but it's still one of the best shows on TV.

Quite enjoyed the recent effort. I too had been tiring a bit of the parodies, it was nice to return to the character-based comedy of the first season.

Yeah, a lot of people are finding Abed's meta-commentary a bit grating.
It doesn't annoy me as much, because I think it's sort of layered on top of his disorder (is it Aspergers? Is it anything? I don't think they've really confirmed). If he were just a normal guy, sprouting meta-commentary for the sake of it, then I would probably find it more irritating. Plus I think they've toned it down a bit since the first season.

It's a great ensemble, so I'm glad they've utilised it here.

Apparently it's pitted against Big Bang Theory in its timeslot in the States, so let's hope that ratings don't kill it :thumbsd:

 THAT IS AWESOME!

Ep 8 was pretty good, very enjoyable.

I knew what would happen at the end would be similar to what it was (
I personally thought it'd be a family of rats or something, maybe even Senor Chang somehow slipping into the room, since he wasn't in this ep
). But yeah, still rolling along with the good eps.

And **** was Annie hot this ep.

Bloody awesome spot, Julius. Didn't notice it in my first two viewings of this epic return to form for Community. I really thought the culprit would have been either Senor Chang/Jack Black emerging from the vent.

Anyone else notice that the monkey had also nabbed "Troy and Abed in the morning" mugs. Loved it when Jeff started tearing the room down and caught Annie cold with her "It's just a pen" confession.

Another very solid episode.

Reminded me a lot of Arrested Development, J. Walter Weatherman

The blanket city, and simulation of a high-speed chase, was also awesome :thumbsu:. Favourite show at the minute.

Christmas Episode was a winner. Wasn't laugh out loud funny but just was pretty sweet and touching at times.

Lost S1 DVD metaphor for lack of payoff, too awesome :D :thumbsu:

The xmas episode was sheer genius IMHO. The best episode of any TV show this year, moving insightful and still quite funny.

I liked the little details. The glimpses of the study room when Professor Duncan unzipped the scene, Snow Chang lurking in the background, the 'Aloof - Detached - Distant - Bjork' dial, the reflection of the real group in the tv at the end. Great episode.

Also found these details somewhere else, it's what makes the show great.
This is a screengrab from the episode where Abed is like bitchy robocop.

And this is the reflection of the TV at the end of the latest episode.

Wasn't overly into it tbh and wasn't really very funny. But I get what they're going for from the last 2 eps, they're trying to inject a bit more soul into the characters and round them out.

Didn't really enjoy the voice work, was very false apart from Abed and Troy really IMO. Everyone else had the very 'booth' type of acting going on.

Seemed like a lot of hassle to go to just for an ep though, must've taken forever!

I think that was sort of the point - when was the last time you saw a well-produced Xmas special? Yes, it's sacrificing the show itself for a bit of extra homage, but I can live with that.

Cheers for the bump, don't know how I didn't know it was back.

Also, just found out that Dan Harmon put $100,000 of his own money into the Xmas episode to make it how he wanted it to be done.
