Was a great ep, love the focus on Chang and his puns using his own name.

Also loved the fantastic degrading/talk up of Chang.

I didn't think it was THAT great. An interesting spin on a pretty formulaic plot. Really enjoyable but it just didn't blow me away.

Community really flummoxes me. I love it, think it's the best comedy on TV at the moment, but it consistently sits on a level just below brilliance for me. I'm not entirely sure why - it's interesting and innovative and consistently funny - but it just lacks something that makes me go 'wow'.

I'm thinking it maybe has something to do with the characters. They hang together well and work together excellently comedically, but they mostly come across as pastiches rather than rounded individuals that really resonate. I know that's part of the idea, but it means I really struggle to identify with them on a meaningful level.

Good call, the characters never really develop or become rounded. Even in shows where the characters are meant to be unrelatable or dislikeable such as Arrested Development or Seinfeld the writing allowed the characters to evolve or at least have multiple characteristics.

All the Community characters seem very one dimensional, dimensions they pull of well, but one dimension regardless.

Probably a by-product of the format of the series whereby a vast majority parody something?

Easily one of the best eps yet. Loved it, loved the (melo) drama, loved the laughs and Chang was hilarious.

This is definitely the best comedy on TV (the net...), just in front of the Office for mine.

That had me in tears, Pearce was at his brilliant best as usual.
Almost my favourite episode of Community.
