The episode was OK.

Those declaring it the "worst ever" have very short memories. Community is pretty inconsistent at times and we just remember the best.

FWIW, I think the Todd episode last season was by far the worst.

But that one had Omar!

And who can forget his awesome takedown of Magnitude:
"You know, they're laughing at you, right? At least, that's my theory."
- awesome.

Or...maybe we merely have our own opinions?

The Todd episode bugged me because of how cruel the characters were. But this one was nearly unwatchable for me. It's like they were trying too hard to be 'Community' in 'their' first episode post-Harmon.

Greendale Babies was great IMO.

IMO, it was an embarrassment.

Drawn Together did a whole Muppet Babies parody episode and I loved it, and this fell miles short (even for a shorter skit). Completely fell flat.

Yeah i didn't like that segment at all either. Like you said, they were trying way too hard to be what they think people want "Community" to be. But we love Community because it's clever and often breaks new ground, not poorly rips off Scrubs and Drawn Together.

Another underwhelming episode.

The Troy-Britta plot makes no sense. Troy obviously had no problems bedding women or considering to do so in the first season (asking Annie where the nearest bathroom was). So we're just meant to believe that he now has no interest in sex, or is merely indifferent to the idea?

Really? Me and a lot of other people I know that watch found it was a massive step up on last weeks ep

I'd agree that it was a step up, from shocking to merely underwhelming. :(

It was a definite step up, but if the next episode isn't based in the study room and instead is just some over the top parody episode that's heavily reliant on reference humour and meta commentary on how cool this show is, then I'm not sure if I'll last the season out.

Nah that was boring, the show is trying too hard

Agreed. Too much of a good thing is a bad thing. I want some traditional study room/campus episodes quick smart.

Didn't mind the ep. But I hate the show being overtly meta which is what these last two have felt like.

But yeah, the show isn't going to last beyond this bunch of episodes, and that probably would of happened with or without Harmon.

I think it's pretty clear they re-wrote Troy's character when he went from a dim yet cocky jock to an dim, innocent, nerd in a bromance with Abed.

I'd suggest they realised his initial character wasn't really working.

I thought this episode was much worse than the premiere, which I didn't think was that bad actually. I got a lot more laughs last week, but maybe only a couple of chuckles from this one. And it definitely suffered from being delayed by a few months - Halloween/Christmas specials are never as good when you watch them not around the actual Halloween/Christmas dates.

Still very confident of Community being renewed for another season. NBC is absolute shambles at the moment with the Office and 30 Rock finishing up. And basically every new show they're bringing out is failing hard. They are being held together by Parks and Recs and Community.

Check out the Cancellation Bear to see. Would guarantee renewal if they average a 1.2-3 over the season which seems to be about 0.5 above what the average show on NBC is getting at the moment.

I enjoyed my long-desired wait to see Pierce's mansion coming to an end. It's almost exactly how I pictured it, but the special gym was smaller than I had initially thought.

I have no idea what the pay-off is supposed to be with the Troy/Britta relationship. We're supposed to be excited for when they finally graduate from holding hands to having an off-screen boof?

Are led to believe that this is some sort of 'magic' xylophone, or something? Boy, I really hope somebody got fired for that blunder.
