With Jeff no longer a student, Pierce gone, and Troy set to drop out/die/take up a football scholarship at a better school, season five will at least be forced to branch off into fresh territory. Looking forward to it. We'll always have the first 2.5-3 seasons; a sub-standard season 4 and completely different season 5 won't diminish that for me.

With Troy gone, hopefully they'll bring back the coat-check girl for Abed.

Losing the Troy and Abed dynamic is going to be a much bigger blow than losing Pierce IMO.

They're just going to have to bite the bullet and start an Annie-Britta romantic relationship storyline.

Sad to hear Glover leaving but I think a lot of the characters' story arcs had been a bit stale for a while so hopefully this will freshen things up. Love the show and hope they can get to the fabled 6 seasons and a movie

They surely need new characters to come in for Pierce and Troy. The show will struggle without them IMO.

We have had some great part-time characters over the years like Professor Kane, Vice Dean Laybourne and Professor Ian Duncan so it won't necessarily feel forced if they do it right.

I always thought Annie would be the first to leave. She is too smart to be at Greendale, honestly she could do better. Interested to see why Troy leaves though.

Didn't Chang 'officially' join the group at the end of Heroic Origins? After Abed realises he was the one that got them all to Greendale. I'd love for that to happen, provided Chang also goes back to being a teacher, or a student of Jeff's Not sure if it's been confirmed if Starburns will return with Harmon.

I actually really hated all his scenes and wasn't particularly sad that he left to commit more time to The Daily Show (where he is much, much better). And let's be honest, the first season wasn't the best season.

Serious? Duncan was great; the scene when he pretending to be teaching anesthesiology when that hot girl walked in and then used his 'force field' to prevent Chang from getting food was a series highlight.

Hope not. Like Leonard, Magnitude and Vicki, his character has no depth.

Yeah, Troy will only be in the first 5 episodes of the new season. The absence of Pierce and Troy explains why the new teacher is getting such a good run, and Duncan's sudden return for a lengthy arc at the back-end of the season. Need to replace them somehow. I was hoping Leonard would be promoted to series regular!

Hopefully Chang will be in more episodes this season. Jeff will surely become a teacher at Greendale, gotta use that education degree for something.

Thoughts on how Troy will leave the series? Hopefully it's not a lame-arse throwaway line about graduating like Pierce's exit.
