Had a few sherbs with my mate Sully the other night. We started comparing pairs of our players in jumper number order against the question “if you could pick one to have a really big year who would you pick”. We hardly agreed on any pair so I thought it might lead to some discussion on this board.

Let’s start.

Maj v Marley. I went Maj cos his best is elite, Sully went Marley cos no one else on the list can shutdown small forwards. Thoughts?

Why is that ridiculous.Sully and I are both passionate North guys & spent a few hours & stubbies mulling over this. It really highlighted what we thought re the now v the future. Who do you want to have a big year, an established player or a kid? So answer the question who would you rather have a big year, MAJ or Marley. A big year from MAJ could be anything but Marley is our only lock down defender on small forwards. Over to you.

42 v 43 Campbell v Hall. Hall by a mile. A big year him meanswe get the burst player we are after. A big year for Tom means he might block the dev of Xerri and Comben.
