Cavs - Have possibly the biggest name in the nba and are a one man team (although i love big Z).
Pies - Have no superstars and work as one team.

Cavs - Have a tall ugly white guy in the middle.

Hawthorn Hawks
Miami Heat

Both have the best (top 5 at least :p) players on the planet for their respective sports. Buddy and DWade.

Both have made the finals/playoffs in about half of their seasons, or just over.

Miami finished with a league worst record in 2008. Hawthorn finished with the 2nd best in the league.

Can't think of anymore.. great thread though :thumbsu:

If you're looking for an NBA comparison to Andrew Walker, look no further than Kwame Brown.

carlton:won premiership in 1995

houston:won finals in 1995
Houston didn't cheat though.

carlton: have a superstar that is also a bad boy brendan fevola
houston: have a superstar that is also a bad boy ron artest
:D:D:D:D
At least Ron Artest has an excuse for being a bad boy. Fev is just a spaz.

North: have enough fans to survive through good and bad times
Golden State: have plenty of fans even when shitty

North: threatened to move

Hawthorn v Minnesota

One has a history of success of five decades

One does not

One has used it recent draft picks well and developed a team that could contest for a title each year for a number of years to come.

One has not

One has a former champion of club deftly helping to build a quality organisation

The other has Kevin McHale

LA Lakers and Port

Both teams share their city with another team.

Lakers have a huge amount of history in the NBA, whereas Port are the newest AFL team.

Both got smashed in their most recent appearance in a grand final/championship series (Port more I guess).

Ronny Turiaf (LAL) and Adam Thomson (PTA) have both moved to different teams where they will get a chance to play more after both were drafted in 2005 (Thomson taken in 2004 draft but you know, it's really for the 2005 season).

Last season the Lakers brought back a veteran who used to play for them (Derek Fisher), this year Port will possibly bring back Josh Carr. Both players wear the number 2.

Both teams have a lot of "outside" players. Port and their "receivers" that like to run, and the Lakers have a heap of outside shooters.

Both play an uptempo style of game but are lacking in defence.

That's all I could think of for now. I guess it's not really comparing, more trying to find similarities, but I think it's more fun that way because you can compare anything and everything but it's harder to find similarities.
