I was thinking about this yesterday and came to the conclusion that Australia has outperformed England in every single position. I mean Pietersen is obviously good enough to make our side, but who would we drop? Symonds is probably our worst performed batsmen, but that's a bit unfair considering he plays a different role to Pietersen. Maybe we could drop Clarke but I think even he's performed better than Pietersen this time around. I guess Lee could make way for Hoggard but both seem to perform inconsistently.

gilchrist scored a ton already this summer (in less than a session as well)
he's keeping fairly well at the moment too and at least we know who our keeper is from game to game

I've heard better... especially the one about the kid that kepts getting beat by his parents and he's gets to choose who looks after him and the judge sends him to live with the English Cricket team as they can't beat anyone...
there are problems at all levels of the team, it's mostly a backroom staff thing though imo, Fletcher is the wrong man for that group of players.

That's English cricket for you.
There's an interview in the Sunday Times with Troy Cooley & he says that Harmison gives 100% on the pitch but that he has to be pushed to put in sufficient practice.
It's bloody ridiculous, what he could do with is having his central contract taken away & then he only gets payed when he plays & hopefully he only gets picked on his short term form from now on not on his past exploits.
I get the feeling that they all need to be pushed a lot harder, certainly in the technical areas (there's a lot of repeated faults in that team).The quicks need to be unleashed into county cricket for me, maybe not so much Hoggard & you have to be careful with Flintoff but Fletcher's reluctance to put much bowling into their legs now looks to be a big mistake.
Get Anderson & Mahmood bowling for Lancashire from the start of the season, that's if Mahmood can make the side.Get Harmison out there from the off too.
