It's just the nature of the segment they all say something that would be a doomsday sometimes it's a team losing again or a controversial issue happening. It would be doomsday if no one turned up but we all know that won't happen.

He’s a total Cat and a true Weasel. He won’t stir the pot in regards to any struggling Melbourne teams because he has to live down there.

Doomsday Scenario for Weasel Whateley-he bumps into Mr Bods one night at the Currumbin Surf Club.

Suns (if they dont already) need to get in a proper events promoter to ensure they can get say 5-10 non footy events at the ground over oct to feb. concerts. Truck shows. Anything to get people thru the doors
Their best bet for consistent events over the summer months involves securing a Big Bash League franchise. It would guarantee 4-5 events every summer and would likely mean pretty good crowds due to the success of the BBL. That should be enough revenue year-to-year to ensure the Suns are profitable.

Obviously a more equitable contract with Stadiums Queensland would help as well.

But that’s still a few years off if it gets up yeh? With artists touring more than they used to and 6 months til summer i hope they are locking some acts in now

They've already secured a Bon Jovi concert for this summer and we know the Australian cricket team will be playing a T20 international against South Africa in mid-November. So there will be at least two events to look forward to at Metricon over the AFL off season.

The Suns are currently working in conjunction with Cricket Queensland and Cricket Australia to make BBL action a reality at Metricon. This is why they have installed a drop-in pitch, built warm up nets and upgraded lighting over the last 24 months. The next step is to secure a better deal with Stadiums Queensland. That would ensure the Suns and Cricket Queensland/Australia can make a profit from hosting BBL games on the Gold Coast. Once the new deal is secured, you will see the Brisbane Heat announce a 'regional game' at Metricon. The Suns are hoping they can secure an expansion franchise based on the Gold Coast the following season.

If everything falls into place, the Gold Coast could have its own BBL team as soon as the 2019-20 season.

They need a "Big day out" type event at the precinct. With all those ovals and the indoor courts plenty of space for a large style festival. My only concerns are the clean up after having been a keen festival goer in the mid 2000's i know those venues were never really treated with respect.

Considering it’s another train wreck at both clubs I reckon both are holding their own.

What are the details? How much of a saving?

This is all I know-an email to members

Dear Mr Bods,

The TFH Gold Coast Titans are pleased to confirm an agreement has been reached with Stadiums Queensland for the club to remain at Cbus Super Stadium as its NRL Telstra Premiership home venue.

The club today confirmed a five-year agreement 'inclusive of options' that will see the club play a minimum of 10 home games at Cbus Super Stadium each year through until the end of 2022.

The agreement follows a determined effort by both parties over recent weeks to resolve the matter once and for all, to provide certainty for our players, members, and commercial partners. Following recent public speculation, and a number of high-level meetings conducted with goodwill and an intent to find a resolution, both parties have compromised to get the deal done.

The Titans would like to thank Stadiums Queensland and Minister for Sport, Mick de Brenni MP, for the cooperation and resolve shown to put an end to the speculation surrounding the future of the club’s tenure at Cbus Super Stadium.

CEO Graham Annesley is both pleased and relieved that an agreement has been reached.

“This has been an extremely complex and difficult matter to resolve, and even though I’m sure it’s not an ideal outcome for either party, it’s great to now be in a position to get on with our primary objective of improving the club both on and off the field without having to deal with constant speculation about the future of our stadium arrangements,” Annesley said.

Head Coach Garth Brennan is happy the people of the Gold Coast will get to see their team in action at our traditional home venue.

“This is a win for the members and fans. Everyone involved in the negotiations on both sides should be commended for their tireless efforts in delivering the best possible outcome for the club, members and fans,” Brennan said.

“We want Cbus Super Stadium to become a fortress that other clubs fear, and now that it’s been confirmed as our long-term home, it’s up to us to ensure it becomes just that through our performances every time we take the field,” Brennan concluded.

The new agreement comes into effect immediately commencing with the Titans Round 14 game against the Rabbitohs.

The Gold Coast Titans have confirmed they have locked in a new stadium deal with Stadiums Queensland, after months of negotiation.

The five year agreement will see the local NRL club continue to call Cbus Super Stadium home until the end of 2022, with a minimum of 10 home games to be played at the Stadium each year.

In a statement released this morning, Gold Coast Titans said both sides had to make compromises to reach a deal.

Awful horrific day for Titans
It was the equivalent train wreck of our match V Geelong this year

Matchu how about an update
18,005 at Robina today. That's biggest crowd on the Gold Coast for 2018 but it's certainly one of the lowest (if not the lowest) home crowds the Titans have pulled against the Broncos. Suns in a similar situation last week with a surprisingly low crowd against Collingwood.

Suns are are still ahead in the yearly average. The two clubs will both play on the Gold Coast next weekend so expect poor crowds again.

Given both clubs basically suck and don’t I know it, I am pretty comfortable with those numbers.
