I can see a couple of comparisons to J Hird with Collins, he is still a skinny kid yet shows plenty of courage. Is the old 6'2 like Mr Hird, once he fills out he could really be a versatile player for the Navy Blues, can play on ball and also as a target up forward. I saw him play 2 yrs ago early and thought that he read the play very very well....all the same qualities as Mr Hird, lets hope he can get somewhere near as good as him....

The other great thing about the swap, is that Grigg has filled out and really is at his physical peak now, he will only get slower from here on in, Collins on the other hand still hasnt reached his physical peak yet has played probably as many good games as Grigg. I really think we won out of this deal, probably not this year but in the years to come....

Come on Blues
My "Rose coloured glasses" see him as another Kenny Hunter.;)

I heard he was setting himself for a crack at the record for the Sydney to Hobart Yatch race this preseason.
He wont be in the boat, he will be out in front towing it. He wont get anything more than his feet wet either.

When the Pope offered to make Andy Collins a Saint, Andy refused, pointing out he had already signed on to play with the Blues.

I see Collins as a mixture of Glenn Archers courage, Stephen Kernahan's leadership, Nathan Buckleys dedication, Ben Cousins' endurance, James Hird's football nous, Captain Carlton's backflip and Reggie Miller's 3 ball all mashed up in to a 6'2 footballing machine.

If only he had Stephen Febey's blonde mullet - would be the perfect footballer.

I'd say that enough is enough.
All these comparisons to elite footballers just isn't fair and correct any more.

We all know that Collins transcends the mere prototype footballer model.
This man/hero is in a league of his own, and the fact that papers have been approved to have him made our second Australian saint, stands testament to this.
St. Andy, the rock which all our foundations are built upon, blessed be thy name.

25 games and already Andy Collins has a street, a dictionary and a submarine named in his honour.

and has his own chain of bookstores.
