Hot on the heels of Adrian Whitehead's compensation claim against the Carlton Football Club, Richmond has been stunned by having a claim lodged against it by its supporters.

A group called the Richmond Supporter Compensation Committee has served papers at the club, claiming damages for hurt, mental anguish and misrepresentation suffered over the last twenty years.

RSCC leader Vic Magganth spelled out his group's grievances. "Since 1982 we've been forced to watch the most useless, talentless and generally pathetic individuals play for and coach the club. Tiger fans have suffered from having blokes like Todd Breman, Peter Czerkaski and Steve McKee play for us over the years, and it's time the club took responsibility for that."

RSCC's catalogue of disaster for the Tigers includes:

- drafting Anthony Banik with a number one draft pick;
- actually giving Stevan Jackson a game;
- wrongfully claiming Ty Esler was a league footballer; and
- signing John Rombotis.

When questioned about his group's motives, Mr Magganth stated that he did not want to hurt the club, but feels he was left with no alternative.

"I approached the club with my grievances, but I got no satisfaction. I feel it's time that Richmond supporters stood up and got the treatment they deserve."

"I mean really, John Manton. Mark Neeld. Robert Schaeffer. Chris Pym. Richard Lounder. Steven bloody Jurica! The anguish we've suffered is inhuman."

Mr Magganth then ended the interview, and stormed away mutting "Todd Menegola, can you believe that? Todd friggin' Menegola!"

Richmond say they are aiming for a top four spot this year. I sincerely hope they are successful, because the likeleyhood is that the Hawks will be one place higher than them

3rd / 4th we can accept without too much mental anguish. It's this 8th/9th thing that has grown rather tedious!

I dunno, I think I am working up a natural immunity to it.

Denial is an ugly thing!!!
