Mod. Notice Competitions: READ BEFORE POSTING A COMPETITION

So some ideas for the fixture is:

• 15 rounds (everyone plays each other once) or 16 (so everyone gets 8 home and 8 away games), probably a rolling fixture if that's the case
• A one off round where every team has a one off jumper (be that heritage, promo, sugar daddy)
• A logo round, undecided whether to actually be for points or just for fun e.g. NBA's all star weekend

Thoughts? Suggestions?

I like the idea of 1 jumper per round.

I had an idea for the promo round, not sure how others would like it, but.. Rather than designing the promo jumpers at the start and that being the end of the design side of the competition, we save off making the promo jumpers until midway through the season. At that point, we vote on a concept for the promos (be it charity, heritage, SoO-inspired, whatever) and get a week or two to design them, before they're entered into the promo round. That way, people stay involved in the competition (but its not like we have to make a new design every week), and people who maybe didn't do too well initially get a chance to try and redeem themselves.

How about people can submit their promo design whenever they want, but it has to be before the due date (i.e. when the promo round takes place) not necessarily when the competition starts?

Thanks E92_ for tagging me. I haven't read before that post but obviously we are trying to get the NAFL up and running again. I'd love to enter except I have exams over the next 2 weeks. If we're going to have plenty time to complete designs and what not then I am happy to enter.

NAFL is of paramount importance - certainly far more so than silly exams. Get your priorities in order, seriously.

I reckon maybe 1-2 weeks for designing. Max 2 1/5. It takes me about 3 hours to do 4 jumpers and a logo, if I don't have too many ideas

Are you saying 2 and one fifth weeks? If so, why not just say a 2 weeks+ one day?

Let's be honest, we have all copied, maybe sometimes without us knowing. Or sometimes someone has done this: "Oh sorry man! My design is almost exactly the same as yours, but I didn't see yours before I started I SWEAR" And you've said ok, but you feel slighty pissed off cause his/hers is slightly better than yours
THE SYSTEM
The competitors pm their entry to the comp runner and then the comp runner makes a pixelated version

of it and posts it. That way the thread will still be kept up the top of the FJGD page and it adds a bit of mystery to the design, and also if people are REALLY stuck on ideas they could sort of see what others are doing. What does everyone think? More pixelated? Less? Or a bad idea altogether?

Reason why it won't work
- no constructive criticism
- won't be able to tell who has posted a design
- too much work for the comp MOD
- already used by the Designathon
- and, if we PM the designs in, what's the need to post them in the thread

I will say "Bob" has posted a design and include the attachment
And I'm not saying everyone has to do it
Posting them will keep the thread on the top bit off the first page
