Mod. Notice Competitions: READ BEFORE POSTING A COMPETITION

I'd like to see a one-off competition (or maybe a three or four comps) for creating non-sport related logos. We should start with Hungry Jacks.

Yes ! Every single time I see that stupid logo I think of all the design possibilities.

Just change the text.

If there's enough interest, we can bring back CCCC 2.0 and see how it goes. To keep it fresh, I'd suggest that a non-Australian Rules team is nominated, which then has to be combined with an AFL team (or alternatively a team from the VFL, SANFL, WAFL, or NEAFL).

Alternatively, if someone else is super keen to run it, I'm happy for that to happen.

Regarding 'Merger of the Week', if it comes back this is what I'd recommend as the structure for the comp:
  • Maximum of 3 entries per person. The intention of this rule is for participants to design entries for both iterations as well as a more creative combination. For instance, in the case of Brisbane and Richmond, three entries may include "Brisbane Tigers", "Richmond Lions", and "Queensland Ligers". Obviously, creative combinations may not be feasible in every case so the intention of the rule may not always apply. However, the maximum number of entries will always be three; the minimum number of entries per person is zero.
  • Minimum of two jumpers per entry (home and clash). The jumpers must be designed so that at least one jumper doesn't clash with the other 16 current AFL teams.
  • Maximum of three jumpers per entry (home and clash, plus one of away, preseason, one-off charity jumper, etc)
  • At least one design per entry must not be a recoloured version of an existing jumper. The reason for this rule is to create a greater distinction between entries. For example, in the case of a merger between Collingwood and North Melbourne, almost all entries would naturally be vertical stripes in varying combinations of black, white, and blue. By introducing the necessity of a unique jumper, greater distinction is created between entries and similar "traditional" designs are more excusable. It is worth noting, however, that the "unique" jumper or jumpers can be constructed using elements from a variety of jumpers, similar to the Fauxback competitions.
  • Logos are encouraged, but not required. Logos can be recoloured versions of existing logos, comprised of elements from logos from both teams, "borrowed" from other teams in other sports, or completely original.
  • It is recommended that entries are accompanied by a description of the various elements of the jumpers, similar to what some people have done for the Fauxback competition.
  • Fake histories, newspaper articles, press releases, team songs, etc are entirely optional but can be included if desired.
  • There will be a period of roughly two weeks for entries, but polls will not be created until there are at least ten entries.
  • Winners will be chosen via a multi-choice poll. Anyone can vote and people can vote for as many designs as they wish, but must not vote for their own. Ties between two designs will stand; ties between three or more designs will be resolved in a repoll.
If it happens, obviously E92_ should have the first option of running it, but I'd be happy to if he doesn't want to.

I figure I'll start this off. I'm thinking of making an NRL Crossover thread. Each fortnight, we use an NRL team, create the crossover as if they were becoming an AFL team. Trick is, The design cannot be what they currently have. Once this is done, we go in reverse. AFL teams becoming an NRL one...
thoughts?

Isn't there already a competition discussion thread. May have been lost on the pages though.
I wasn't too sure. I looked through a few pages but couldn't find one. I figured, since we were apparently restructuring arts of the board, might as well make a fresh start... Also, I kind of wanted to start a thread for the hell of it

I really like that idea

Ill re-state this request as I started it in another thread before it was moved here. What does everyone think?

How about going a step further and banning anything the clubs have worn previously?

That'd severely limit some clubs. And then we wouldn't be able to see the gem that was the Broncos version of the Diamond Jersey
Ha! I can use the cursed J word now!!!!!
